Dude. I'm 28 and can see from mile away when a guy is flirting with my friend, but haven't got a clue what's happening when a guy is all but screaming it through a microphone. A lot of people are like that. Normally it's due to some sort of self doubt. Also, she didn't have anyone special in her previous life when she pass, so she probably has no experience in this area to draw from.
