they were already engaged in their previous lives, the uke gave the seme's company secret to his father (basically betraying the seme) seme was pissed. uke also got raped by the seme's brother. seme didn't believe him and thought uke cheated on him. bunch of unfortunate things happened to uke. i think the uke died at some point? then the seme found out the truth (how uke was desperate for his family's approval, he got raped, etc) he regrets everything. he then was given the chance to re-do everything so in this second life he tries to fix things, which is why he knows everything that is about to happen. he doesn't want to bond with uke/make the engagement secret bcs he planned to let go of uke and let uke find his happiness
