sometimes it's not about being fat or trying to lose weight but I agree the author doesn't know what bulimia is. It sounds like he has binge eating disorder which is more common in men too

He has bulimia Nervosa, and part of that is binge eating. So I think the author know it but focusing on MMORPG rather than the mc disorder. But you can see how minhyuk keep eating nonstop and will do everything to eat. They just make it lighter disorder rather than how bulimia is really extreme and hard to cure in theraphy

Bulimia Nervosa is a serious eating disorder that keep eating and cannot stop, because of binge eating they tend to throw up.
Also the vomiting part tend to be a female mental health who has bulimia because they can't stop eating and insecurity rise them and they keep vomiting and then they eat again. It is serious cycle.

Binge eating disorder aka BED is different from Bulimia Nervosa. In Bulimia you binge and then purge. Either by self induced vomiting, laxatives or excessive exercise, in BED you just binge but do no purge.

Also the vomiting part has nothing to do with insecurity rising during the binge. You know very well before you even start the binge that you will purge. That's why you plan what foods you binge on because some foods are easier and more pleasant to throw up than others. You plan where you are when you do it, get the foods you want. It is a process.

And the binges might happen only few times a month or even less during some periods and it can be daily during the worst parts, it also is not because you cannot stop eating but more of really bad way to deal with stress and anxiety. Also it does not require you to eat till you throw up because of over eating but you eat and throw up on purpose.
