I think it's less of good people do good and bad people do bad but more on a spectrum
Like you said no one really knows how someone actually is - there's some psychology on it about the superego, ego and id (read up on it it's rlly interesting), in summary, it's saying: superego: how we present ourselves to others, so that could be classed as good ......
