This made me realize that resonance is not the same as being seen. When something resonates with us, we empathize with the characters, settings, and anything else it presents. Being seen however is when the author is the one who empathizes with us. It feels like the author is really out here for us, patting our backs and saying “you’re not alone”. It’s really that powerful.

PS: Just a reminder that you are not a coward if you don’t feel safe to come out of the closet. Coming out can be so much more complicated than just having courage and “pushing back the haters”. Especially when you have a lot at stake and you’re not ready to take the (inevitable) fall. Maybe Hanneul just said those things in the heat of the moment, but he went really went too far calling Yeoreum a coward.
I know the kindergarten teacher means well, but I don’t know if enforcing gender stereotypes is helpful here. Even if Yuuya were to be an omega, work life balance is hard. Maybe their financial situation doesn’t allow much work life balance and let’s not forget about Japanese corporate working culture? Not saying that it’s the case here, but there’s a lot more to childcare than gender roles and whatnot.
