It’s one of the best mangás ever. It’s so true! Im not a teen anymore but as a mother i can say it.. man it’s a fucking rollercoaster of emotions, thoughts and feelings! His boyfriend is really mature and her mother is a bless! I also can understand how her father and brother feels.. it’s something so important to talk about I wish every teen girl could ready this manga (saying it as 30y old mom while I’m breastfeeding my 6m old baby)
just a question, if this happens to you will you support your son/daughter? i couldn't comprehend why this manga exist like it sound "no worries, even if you're tenager and accidentally pregnant you can survive... kirishimahoe
I think there is a lot that you didn't understand from this manga. Ultimately, the manga isn't saying that teen pregnancy is a good thing but rather shedding light on the struggles one might encounter from it and that could be a learning opportunity for every teens that read this story.
I don't see where you got the idea that the manga is glorifying teen pregnancy when she's literally facing so much hardships : she's being bullied, her family is in shambles, her boyfriend's mother isn't speaking to him anymore etc.. All of which would rather contribute to prevent teen pregnancy as these are very real consequences.
On another side, I think reading this story can help us feel more empathy for teen moms since it shows how hard it can be for them going from the torture of choosing between keeping the baby or not to facing the judgement of people.
And although it's understandable to be against teen pregnancy, what's the use of villainizing teen moms when they're already going through a lot ? Yes, she is getting by because a lot of people support her, would you rather she struggled even more ? for what ? to teach her a lesson ? Making her suffer more wouldn't be beneficial to anyone including the baby like what's the point ? Without the support of anyone, it could lead to an abusive environment for the baby so I'm glad that the mother is well surrounded
What needs to be done isn't blaming the literal CHILD but give better access to proper sexual education.
To answer your question as to why this manga is written: it's to educate people on two things.
1) It can give the teenagers that read this story more information regarding sexual education but also a real glimpse of what could become of their daily lives if not careful. 2) It teaches you to be kind. You don't know what people are going through, why do you need to be so judgemental ?
And yes I would support my own child in their decision wtf. First of all, it's your responsibility to look after your children so if as a CHILD they make a mistake, you also have some fault in this. In this case, maybe the parents did not give proper sexual education to their children. I think the mother is doing an amazing job giving her daughter love and support. Also, while I do agree that teen pregnancy is a bad thing and I certainly would be somewhat disappointed or disagreeing with my child facing the same situation, it doesn't I won't support them. As a mother, I would do anything for my child so supporting them is a given. It's your responsibility as a parent to protect and support your child.
I think you lack the maturity to understand this story for now

thank you!!! you literally just vocalized my exact thoughts.
it's kinda frustrating when people read this and immediately put on a black/white mentality. there's alot of nuances in this story and i think it's very important to understand that!
i also really like how you say one of the goals of this manga is to teach people how to be kind. it may sound easy but when faced with sth that goes against your belief, it can be hard for you to maintain that kindness. just like how fuku's decision is portrayed in this story.
some say she's making dumb decisions but then that's where you look inside and ask the questions whether you could extend empathy and kindness towards ppl in the same situation as her.
like the saying goes: against teen pregnancy not teen moms! i think this manga does a good job in educating people on this topic and i can see how it could help teenagers that are in the same situation :)
