Can we leave zoomer speak out of manga, please?
I already hate the term "gooner" to begin with. I don't need to see it here, too. Ripped me straight out of reading.
"Gooner" now has a massive negative stigma around it. There's only rare instances where people don't use it as an insult or without malicious intent.
You can't so much as appreciate a character's design or outfit without someone either calling you porn addicted or a gooner these days. It's not the same as when we used to use the term "fap" in place of masturbation. I'd just rather them use a different term than one I am forced to see any time I open socmed to insult people trying to have fun on the internet.
It wouldn't be so bad if most of these English terms didn't carry so much negative connotation now.
Like, 90% of the time I see the terms "goon" or "gooner" it's used in a derogatory way to insult someone who so much as glances at an anime tiddy. 7% of the time it's used to refer to henchmen and the remaining 3% is used in a joking, lighthearted way like "fap" used to be.
I get why there is localization and all, I just wish they didn't feel the need to find workarounds that used lingo only the terminally online or 18 yos would find funny.
Mhmm.
I'm also tired of the dog ass excuse of "well, the jp is using slang/puns that are hard to translate into English" as if I wasn't deep in the fansub mines 20 years ago reading fan translator notes explaining the context of a joke that only makes sense in Japanese lol real ones remember aarinfantasy subs.
We used to be able to just *learn* why the jokes are funny due to the language and cultural context. Now they just replace it with some dumb ass lingo that mostly English speakers use and aren't funny at all.
But the execution is falling flat on its face.
Probably should have worked some of the other details out a bit more before finalizing them.
It'd make more sense if Eonhyeong's pheromones or the direct contact with his bodily fluids were repressing Wooyeon's own alpha pheromones and not the fact that butt sex was what was causing it. It just sounds goofy, and in the context of omegaverse where same sex couples are normal it just doesn't feel right. Not to mention that most of your hormone and adrenal glands are located in your neck or anywhere above the shoulders. Unless their prostate is directly linked to their alpha genes it doesn't make sense. It's why biting the back of the nape is the chosen method for bonding.
It also has the potential to sound medically goofy when trying to explain the alpha transformation surgery.
But, tbh, a lot of the stuff in this series doesn't really play by omegaverse rules, and altho the premise is interesting, the lackluster story telling is making it a slog to get through. Nothing feels genuine when the characters speak and neither do their relationships.
I wish this would have been about Hibiya and Sui and not Yoshino and Rou.
They already got their happy ending in the first volume. There was no need to expand on them and instead should have had them play support for Hibiya leaving his abusive relationship and giving Sui advice on how to go about wooing him.
Idek. That would have been cuter and more fulfilling in the end.
Just to be safe lol

'Cause why did I see his ass crying and bowing at the alter of the grandmother that basically whored him out in the very next chapter??
Naw. Naw naw naw.
Ya'll can pity him, but atp he really is just dumb af. I've only ever felt this way about a character a handful of times, and I've read over 5,000 yaoi/bl series atp so that's saying A LOT.
I thought this was gonna be some sort of horror psychological thriller, but instead I wanna strangle Saha and tell Heesu to clarify what actually happened the night Heetae died just so Saha can stop acting like the ultimate victim in all this. I felt so bad for him being put in that situation with Heetae 'cause he was actually being abused, but now Saha is basically ditching the man he got to fall in love with him AND cover his potential crimes just 'cause his ass is delusional.
I swear to God the reveal for Heetae's murder better be fucking worth this migraine.
Funnily enough this isn't always so lol
Like, yeah, they aren't omnipotent and sometimes it's needed for driving the plot, but Saha is blatantly doing things to make his life worse now.
After reading a bit if the raws I feel like I shouldn't even continue to read this shit anymore. I keep dropping my rating lower and lower 'cause I feel like the writer is trying to force me to feel bad for Saha when really I just wanna smack the shit out of him.
He's asking 'cause one version of Huimin was so broken and disgusted with Iheon he died and created a whole alternate timeline for them.
Then there's the alternate timeline Huimin that was never even allowed to consider a mutual love with Iheon to the point the world stopped when Iheon tried to confess.
Then we have the current Huimin who believed he was isekai'd the entire time and that himself and the Huimin from "Silence" were two different entities till recently. He's also the only version of Huimin that even dared to fight back and work things out with Iheon on equal footing. Granted, part of this was possible due to Iheon trying to do things differently this time around, but Huimin's current personality is still a 180 from the first one. Despite still having the aversion to alpha pheromones, he doesn't cower away or think all alphas are just rapists. Somewhere down the line he genuinely wanted to heal so him and Iheon could actually fall in love and be happy.
Right now Iheon is terrified. He's formed a one-sided dependency on Huimin's pheromones and being away from him is literally killing him. He's panicked 'cause Huimin now remembers that all three versions of him are real and currently a part of him so in Iheon's mind Huimin is going to leave him again. 'Cause why wouldn't he? Iheon was the main source of Huimin's pain and eventual demise their first time around. Of course Huimin would have every right and reason to runaway and never return to Iheon.
This is them meeting and confirming what is going on. No one knows aside from Huimin and us readers what is going on in Huimin's head.
Ya'll are just too dumb or unwilling to actually think for a second to realize *why* Iheon asked that question first. I don't even know why I bother trying to explain shit anymore.
Tl:dr 'cause some of ya'll apparently can't read more than a few sentences but can read 60+ chapters of gay porn for some reason;
Iheon just wants to clarify if whether the current Huimin is still "alive" or if one of the other two has resurfaced due to current Huimin learning about the alternate timelines. The other two timelines were dead ends so he's terrified that, once again, Huimin is going to die.
'Cause I'm just annoyed atp lol
Like, Saha wanted to get away from Heetae and used Heesu, to a degree, to do this. He gave him pills he had no idea what they were just 'cause he wanted to have sex with Heesu behind everyone's backs.
He confesses his love to Heesu, Heetae is murdered and we don't know for certain who did it, and now Saha wants to play switch-up on Heesu?
The only thing keeping me seated is my damned curiosity as to who or how Heetae died. I don't even blame Heesu for not clearing anything up 'cause Saha can't even handle anything mildly distressing and never has been able to.
Now he's wanting to run back to the family that deserted and sold him off?? Like, fuck your sister and grandma!! If your sister cared she would've taken off with you or done something about your grandma. And you think your grandma is just gonna be ok with you returning after your charge died?? He's so fucking stupid it hurts.
And I hate when series make me sympathize with someone who uses physical force, but I feel more upset for Heesu rn 'cause he fell for Saha's weepy confessions and is now being made out to be a monster.
And do NOT get me started on Saha saying shit just to piss off and hurt Heesu.
Like, why would you even lie about having sex with a man that was abusing you like a maniac in front of the man who is clearly in love with you?????? Is his head full of rocks or some shit?
I know for a fact that Heesu is covering shit up for his and Saha's sake 'cause it's almost too coincidental that all these events are happening at the same time.
I'm just tired of trying to be manipulated into feeling bad for Saha when he's just stupid.
At the people thinking this wouldn't somehow become more fucked up given the whole premise of the series lol
Like, yes, they apparently have a "happy end", but the ending is just that. The whole fucking journey has been nothing but one long psychotic roller coaster lol even if they do get a "happy end" is it really that? After all the trauma, abuse, stalking, toxic dependency, drug abuse and idolizing is it really a "happy" end lol
"What was I expecting" "why won't he get him help" "this is just disgusting"--
Have you been reading with your eyes closed? I specifically picked this up 'CAUSE it's fucked up and unapologetically so. We been knowing since ch1 that this was gonna be all kinds of toxic. So why are we now expecting the current events to be resolved within a chapter so they can "live happily ever after" lol
If I started a series, saw how it was going in a direction I didn't like within the first couple of chapters I would promptly drop it.
To continue to subject yourself to something that could last for 30-200 chapters is nothing but sheer lunacy and I'm tired of ya'll making excuses for it.
If you were eating something that tasted disgusting to you would you continue to eat it and cry the entire time or would you stop and simply eat something else more enjoyable??
that comparison between eating and reading something needs to stop that’s just stupid and not at all the same☠ and like i said before they might’ve heard something different somewhere else such as “it’ll get better” when u hear things like that about something it makes u want to get to that point until u can’t take anymore and just drop it so it’s not “excuses” it’s just how the brain works.
No, it's not a bad example 'cause it dumbs it down to a simpler point for you people to digest. But here's one that is closer to the same medium as manga/hua/hwa; if you're watching a show or anime series for about 5-10 episodes but you still don't like it or it just isn't your cup of tea would you still watch it? Would you potentially waste what lil time you have left on this planet subjecting yourself to something you can't stomach or bores you?
I can't stand live action chick flicks or romcoms. If I started a series only to realize it's one of these things I'd stop and go find something else I'll actually enjoy.
You guys will read something for 30+ chapters whining and bellyaching the whole time that everything is disgusting or horrible or how you wish the mc would end up with the soyboy second ml. Ya'll do this and think it's some sort of God given right that those around you, who are actually enjoying the material for what it is, just put up with your incessant whining.
And lord forbid anyone suggest you move on to another series for your own sanity. Then all of a sudden it's a personal attack and "everyone has their right to an opinion." Well, newsflash, opinions are like assholes; everyone has one but most of the time they're best kept to yourself.
it is though, one u try a food u don’t like you can see the ending in that very moment so u can automatically choose to quit because there’s no hope in it getting better. with shows and books it’s completely different, they change nearly all the time and may suprise you. there can be moments that just before you’re about to drop it something sucks you back in making you want to continue. people are allowed to read things they don’t like that’s literally how you figure out if you like something or not. if you don’t like the “whining” and peoples opinions then you can simply not read comments where it’s ALL about opinions good or bad. Nobody has to keep their opinion to themselves just because you don’t like seeing it. if you don’t like seeing them then stop reading them. it’s better to let your opinions out on small stuff like this instead of just holding it all in it’s not actually affecting anyone and if it is affecting you today then oh well you’ll be fine the next day this is the internet you can get off anytime.

There's one vital thing Hyehan can't bring back-- a soul.
He may be able to revive a body, but the thing that makes us truly alive is our souls. He was already long gone by the time Hyehan found him. If Charin does somehow manage to be revived it's not gonna be the real him. He's basically going to be a vegetable or worse a zombie that only knows how to act on the basest of instincts.
Then there's the feeling I get that if Tehir's tissue/organs/DNA gets mixed in, like Hyehan is trying to do to revive Charin, it's gonna result in the two of them merging into one. They already look shockingly similar, and given their shared parentage and biological dispositions it wouldn't be entirely shocking if they could become one person. The problem is tho is that Charin's body is an empty husk. It's more likely that Tehir would probably take over once his organs have been transplanted and thus giving him a new body that isn't actively killing itself. I don't think I like that idea too much lol
And I'm not much of a hopeless optimist to think Charin could come back wholly as himself and he could finally live happily with Jin. So, imho, Charin staying dead and Jin learning to move on and become his own person is the best outcome for the two.
