1st life, it was publicly known that he was with Ramona. But from my understanding, it was a political move by both parties (tho Ramona might have actually truly fallen for him). Knowing Perez as we do now, I'm sad to say he might not have liked Ramona at all. This is not me being biased.

Perez is highly calculative and I wouldn't put it past him to have the Brown family as a backing to get his revenge against the imperial family. He was extra jaded in the first life and had to survive all that political maneuvering without the Lombardi family.

In fact, his life trajectory isn't any different in regards to what happens. Survived, got into the imperial family, went to boarding school, came back, took down the Lombardi bullies (Tia's cousins), and even put the Empress where he wanted her. 2nd life was easier coz Tia found him first.

Well, kind of. He was engaged to her, but it was just a marriage of convenience to fight vs the Angenas (the missing Family Brown vs Angenas). In the first life Perez just lived for revenge, he was just a pitiful soul who didnt know anything more than that, so once he accomplished his goal towards the end, he ended up just feeling empty and feeling no purpose in life while crying in the place his mother lived.
That part broked my heart...he was portrayed so vulnerable
