Did you read the story? They were both miserable apart, and kept thinking of each other. They really wanted to make it work and they’re both making an effort for it. Both of them had issues and they’re working on them and their relationship together.
They really love each other that much.
I cannot add more to what people said about the plot, it’s sad cause it had potential.
What I can add is that you don’t even get porn scenes to save this waste of time, so I wouldn’t recommend reading it.

The author is just not good at writing something this complex.
The whole alpha and omega literally cannot control themselves because pheromones and how that affects everyone that they care about is a very good concept to explore.
But this author is just not skilled enough to convey that story, and it’s a shame too cause it’s a good premise if explored properly.
If this was better written people would not hate it as much is my point. It’s not so much the premise, it’s the quality of writing.
What if when he gets his memories back he stops loving Shane because Hearth just didn’t feel that way. That could also be why the lord banished him altogether, because Hearth himself was never gonna love Shane like Shane wanted.
I think this story handles the fact that he’s a new person very well I haven’t seen that in a while.
So that Charles situation is just nothing now?
I feel that things get built up and then dropped, I hope the novel is better
