This is not how it went in the novel. The seme actually asked Shen Roufei on advices how to win Shen Yu back. Then Roufei recommended that they make him jealous and Shen Yu will try to win the seme over again. That was the plan, and I think it wasnt poison that hey gave shen yu back in the novel. They told him to lure the seme out so thay can ambush him. I hope they follow this plot cause I really loved how the seme almost got killed cause of Shen Yu but still begs for his love lmao.

I think they changed the story a bit in the manhwa, to make the plot short I guess. Especially the plot of the guard and the prostitute, they didn’t elaborate more on the manhwa, but on the novel it’s detailed.
