I can’t believe I spent time analyzing Naho’s character for the first few chapters to my friend and absolutely geeking out over it. This has a lot of potential to be something more but it felt like the writers changed half-way through.
In my opinion, Naho is a very well-written character. Although the first few chapters did hurt me, I love whenever Naho pops up and shares his thoughts. It’s genuinely so exciting to look into his character in a deeper way, and I really enjoyed Naho’s character and his development. Though, that can’t be said for Kana.
Although Kana never did anything explicitly wrong, I felt like he was such an ass throughout reading this. Instead of making Kana as great of a character as Naho, the author completely threw his character development out the window and made him… well… that. To put it simply, it seems like he’s made for the “yaoi gaze”. (if that makes sense) Kana’s whole character is basically just being obsessed with Naho, wanting to fuck Naho, and that he doesn’t want to be popular. I wish that the author would expand more on the last character trait, and not any more on the remaining two. This really could’ve been so much more, and I’m mad that it’s all over the place now because of Kana’s horniness.
I checked the comments of a few manhwas that I like and some comments are saying that it’s mid and stuff and now I’m wondering if I actually have shitty taste in manhwa

1. Sci-fi
2. Psychological
3. School-life
Extra stuff : Anything you consider that has a good plot, something that focuses on the plot over the romance (if there is any), characters having a redemption arc or character development, no incest/age-gap/smut/just overall booktok stuff, found-family trope
https://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/little_mushroom/ the main genre is Sci-fi (post apocalyptic setting) with a sub genre of romance
https://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/turning/ not sci-fi, action fantasy BUT it has an amazing gigantic plot (plotS should I say), character developmentS (even side characters), definitely found family trope, plot over romance, absolutely zero toxic shit / only green flags and slow burn. If you’re a novel reader I can’t recommend enough the novel too.
