It definitely is in the west but in most Asian countries you can become a doctor about 2-3 years after high school I believe mostly becuase they have programs for premed students in highschool a lot of my cousins in my home country became doctors at the age of 24 so it’s not that shocking
I study medicine in Italy and it takes 11 years to become a surgeon

In Detective Conan, Hagiwara died from trying to disarm a bomb. 4 years later, Jinpei dies the same way. They’re both side characters in the show and most of the screen time they had are just flashbacks. In this doujinshi it puts them as a couple in high school and skips to them already being police officers (Which is why Jinpei is still alive and he’s “hearing” Hagiwara as if he was still there.
