Ahh I wouldn't mind reading a story about how this base of vile rioters and an obnoxious mind-controlling (and breaking) cook leader get prosecuted grandly by proper forces...
But as he's an mc it doesn't seem like it's gonna happen...

Right because he definitely should have just let everyone die instead of live to adapt to the world.
Of course it’s not like he himself isn’t aware how dangerous ability is and shows guilt or regret when he uses it.
Right totally forgot there are people out there would favor death over life just because someone bent to rules to far to your liking.

He didn’t mind control them literally that would require him to literally make them do something against their will.
He affected their emotions and they are all better for it. Should he have been transparent about that. Probably, but regardless they are literally all alive and well thanks to the courage and calm he instilled in them through his cooking.
You are the same type of person that says stupid shit like “I didn’t ask them to fight for me” about soldiers that go to war right?

... I wanted to read some guideverse but there's almost nothing about actual guideverse and nothing about dungeons or powers, it's pretty much just f*cking and then f*cking some more... and tye sex scens are not even so good...
Yeah, also some ptsd solving but it's not all that interesting...

Yeah I've been on the verge of dropping it for most of the reading time
And now I'm conflicted again - whether to drop it already or see at least how they sue the gas-lighting dude... it's the same problem again with such stories, it's useless to keep reading, but after all the reading that's already been done it's a pity not to see some answers...

Ayo we are the same besti, i dropped this too earlier before season 1 ended i was interested in the plot plus the smut is givingლ(´ڡ`ლ) but then its all about smut and less about the plot(⊙…⊙ ) i just re-read this back again, prolly gonna drop this again till the end so that i can read all in one shot

If u want more action packed dungeon stories (with less to no smut in the main story) then read hunterverse instead since Guideverse deals mostly with skinship. In BL guideverse physical intimacy is necessary for the plot so a lot of sex scenes are to be expected.
And really, no need to show ur distaste here where people enjoy this story, if u find this bland then dont force urself and read other stories that will suite ur taste

Its also the reason why it wasnt tagged as action! While there are mentions of dungeons, this is more centered around romance. If you haven't yet, i suggest you read "The Hunter Wants to Live Quietly", its more of what your looking for. I'd also like to reccomend "Global examination", its not guideverse but really good action/fantasy bl!

There’s a good one called A Trace of the Wonder (Yaoi) but like someone said earlier it’s a Hunterverse, not a guideverse and the title says “yaoi” but nothing really happens sexual wise until near the end and even then I don’t think it really shows anything but don’t quote me on that it been a while since I’ve read. It’s still peak tho and it actually focuses on dungeon clearing and learning to control powers with a bit of mc trauma as the ml tries being manipulative but the mc is pretty calculating as well. Should totally read it, there’s fun twists

Wow... she's going really far, knowing that Eclis was pretty much under that mirror's control... and after she herself had been brainwashing him just as well... -_- so evil...

If he was so brainwashed he wouldn’t still be trying to get with her. He’s not stupid, he knew what he was getting into which is why he didn’t trust her in the beginning. He chose to find that yvanna girl. Because he was obsessive and jealous. He wanted to give her a reason ro run away. Even then when he was “brainwashed” he resisted more than the other cast. Right now he’s just obsessed with her and he’s doing things he know she wouldn’t want. He just want her to feel guilty.

Try to read it from the start, eclis grew up as a slave with no family at all so all he had to do was to rely on Penelope's support. And what did Penelope do? She manipulated him into thinking she will be the only one to love him or be by his side. The original timeline eclis was supposed to go was that he isn't obsessed with Penelope he just brought back yvonne bc it's his job as a knight. Now that Eclis was obsessed with Penelope in this timeline, he wanted to give Yvonne so that Penelope will only trust eclis lmao learn how Eclis became dependent of Penelope bc of her manipulation and don't blame it on Eclis alone.

His brainwashing was incomplete for 2 reasons: first, the mirror was damaged and not at full force, and second - he adores mc so much that he manages to struggle even when that evil goddes is against him, or whatever Yvonne is... that shows how much he cares for the mc if anything.
Truthfully, as I see it the mc mostly hates him bc he turned out as a failed investment. He was supposed to become he most probable ticked way home, but he just didn't give her that last 1% of his rapport...
Well I presume she shouldn't have been so half-assed about him if she really counted on him...
If you doubt the power of the mind control, then look at her "brothers". Although their rapport is also very high, they acted unreasonably towards Penelope because of Yvonne even without fully comprehencing their actions... but it wasn't like they became like zombies, that mirror, as it seems, influences their thoughts and feelings in a certain way so they would act like that... like, their suspicions would be stimulated and twisted... or some other feelings. Eclis has lots of feelings that could be stimulated and directed.
As for "he chose to find that Yvonne"... he didn't though?

I don't know about credit, but he definitely doesn't own her anything. He's a slave, she bought him. Then she played him like a doll to use him. Ppl here talk about his actions as if a slave should know his place and behave like a good little dog without accepting anything, while giving averything to his owner...
He's a person, you know?
(Or maybe an npc. You never know in this game world...)
And yes, the one really bad thing that he did was setting up those escapees, but bringing a list daughter to her family is certainly not something he can be blamed for. It's not like he knows that she's a cultists' goddes who feeds on ppl and uses some strange form of magic or whatever.

She never forced him too anything and not only that she was trying to set him free. And in the beginning he didn’t trust nor like her. Yes he was a slave but he had a lot more free will and chances to leave. Which he knew he could because she tried to help him leave. He stayed because in the end of the day he wanted to. Ans when he became obsessed with her he started to twist what she said and did for him. Even in the story he acknowledges that he did what he did knowing it’ll hurt her and knowing that he just wanted her to run away with him.

I reread ot myself and he met her in the village. Obviously, she had her own agenda, looking for someone instead of Winter to "lead her in" dramatically... Eclis himself wouldn't even know where to search for her and whether she's alive even if he wanted to pull someth8ng off.
And when he met her and realized who she was (not sure how he recognized her though) he, first of all, tried to kill her, thinking that killing her would make it more secure for his master's position. She just managed to stop him thanx to her powers implemented "in the right spots"...

She never set him free. She just wanted to take off that slavery device attacks him if activated. That doesn't count as setting free. And she only tried to do it after a lot of time passed and when she saw enough rapport value over his head to be sure that it wouldn't backfire at her.
And what "he stayed because he wanted to", if he left after her removing his collar he would just be a runaway slave sentenced to execution. Removing the collar wouldn't have changed his status.
And what he acknowledged wasn't that she would get hurt, but that she would get angry. If anything, he saw her being hurt constantly there where they lived and wanted to help her run away bc he saw how she was tortured there. What he didn't know was that she wanted to flee from this world, not just this mansion...
And also there was this scene... where she begged him to save her... herself. He had all the reasons to try to help her. He just didn't (and couldn't) know that her idea of him helping her meant that he should give her all of his heart without reservations so that she could clear the game and leave this world, throwing him away like some garbage, breaking him to pieces...

So... all this time, while the imperial family members were diying young for generations bc there were no Freede decendants that could stabilize their power, they had a perfectly functional dark spirit stone tacked safely in their treasury or wherever... without badging to help out their sovereigns they are supposed to be most loyal to... but then when a dark spirit user awakened among them he tricked a princess into a fake marriage just to secure her brother's lifelong assistance while slowly driving her insane with his attitude, then he and his accomplice tracked down the light spirit stone, intending to use it without informing the legal heir of this thingie, his wife...
What a nasty parasite...

Damn, now that you say it like that, oof, ah well they did say they couldn't control the spirit stone? Right? Or is there something else, tbh I don't remember how it's used, but seriously...theyre really awful if that's how it is, I wonder if its just a mistake by the author who's too tired hh or is it meant to be this way???

The Freede lad can't "control", but not "use" it. That is, he can use the stone, but can't control the amplified darkness energy, which he doesn't have much control over even in a normal state. But that doesn't mean that the stone can't be used, he just touched the light stone and got "healed" automatically. And that seem to be his and his childhood friend's intention all along when they were searching for it in secret from the empress. In the previous life. So I think it would be safe to assume that it would be the same with the darkness stone and the light power users, no need for the Freede's successors to be able to use it on them actively.
As for the author... I think the author just didn't think it through. Like some other things. Like how the mc didn't have any realizations after she learned that her so called husband wasn't forced into marriage with her against his will and his preferences, but marriage to her was his scheme all along meant to use her position, completely disregarding her ruined life and her feelings. She didn't stop that tune of hers about how she's all evil and how he's her poor victim. You could blame it onto her blind infatuation, but Ethan didn't correct her interpretation either, though he's supposed to be smart.
Seriously, the Freede guy started liking her after the time reversal and confessed to her about his circumstances, because he new it would be unfair to hide it. Through it it should've been seen by the mc just how much he disregarded her before (and they got married long before she killed her brother, his doctor, didn't they?), but the mc didn't see anything, she just started feeling sorry about his situation all over again.
And this whole concept of him marrying her to get treatment from her brother... he was getting treatment from him all along without marrying anyone, so why do it? It can be deduced that he did it for guarantee that the brother will continue doing it in the future, but, first of all, that is too much to ruin a princess's life over something like this, and besides, if the aim was that the brother wouldn't be able to ignore his sister's husband's plight because he cares for her, then he shouldn't have married her all the more, if he only intended to torment her. Because if the brother cares, then why would he help his sister's tormentor? And if he didn't care for his sister, then why would he care for her husband? Again, he wasn't just cold and indifferent to her, he didn't even bother to fulfill marital duties at all... it was mentioned when she started dating Ethan how she didn't have any experience.
Truthfully, when it was first said that he married her because of his condition, I thought that it had something to do with her blood, even though she didn't have powers. Like, being close to a Millinare would stabilize him. Or intimacy would. Or anything. But it turned out it had actually nothing to do with her, only with her brother....
So year, I think that the setting is just messy, the author stuffed this story with all sorts of drama without properly thinking it through :) or at least that's what it looks like to me...

Oh God, how is this shit so stupid and illogical and has the rating of 9.7 regardless? That's really beyond my comprehension... how are Korean things always like this, it's like they sold their souls to the devil...

There may be works without logic but they shouldn't have such rating. That's why I'm so pissed)
Japanese works are usually evaluated more or less reasonably (that's why when I try picking one I can usually assume that the ones with high rating are at least of high quality, even if I don't like it in the end I wouldn't be so disgusted and dissupointed), but it's a whole different story with Korean ones. They are totally unpredictable and this is disturbing. For example, the painter of the night is great, and this one is just horrible. It's boring and stupid. So why won't people just stop give 5star rating to such comics only because of the fan service, bright colors? Even the most popular Japanese comics don't have so high rating when it's similar: low story quality but lot's of popular tricks...
I wouldn't write these comments if not for this controversy ) usually I just don't care about the things I don't like, but it's a different story when I feel deceived.

Look, just because you don't like it, doesn't mean everyone hates it. I'm sorry you feel decived, but I really liked this comic, I liked potn too. We all have different tastes. I've seen a lot of hate comments for potn. You can't compare digital webtoons and traditional paper comics lmao.
I'm totally cool with you not liking the comic, just don't state your opinion as fact.

I 100℅ agree with this statement like how come u hate a web toon so much to have such extreme point of views. Plus this season also has proper story like gio's past that is related to his parents will be shown then the thing with Felix and his mom so this season also has a proper story line. It's just a little slower in pace then s1(⌒▽⌒)

The problem is not in whether there is a story line or there is not. For example, it's stupid how the seme always gets those murder attempts and the uke was kidnapped and almost raped, and yet the "villains" don't get persecuted at all. And they were not subtle in their actions at all, it would be easy to find evidence, there are also witnesses. The author just ignors logic here. It is even more unfathomable how the uke just prays that the red head doesn't kill him and his family while committing crimes to sooth him instead of turning to his "father" and revealing the truth to him, asking for protection, or turning to the police, or revealing the situation to the public- after the redhead told him about his lianage. It's also stupid how the redhead revealed the fact to him - because it's most obvious to use this for protection and life improvement, especially after his mother was almost killed and his dread trampled. And the redhead spills the beans and the uke just eats thus shit doing nothing.
And when the redhead tells the police that the uke committed corporate espionage and assassination attempt... and they gust go and imprison him... first of all, he wouldn't do so normally - when he is a part of it and the mastermind, no less. Second, the police wouldn't imprison a person without solid proof and without even the victim's (the seme's) testimony. Third, it's easy here to proof, that it was the redhead, that threatened him into espionage, there are the sms, their meetings, the uke didn't get any money for the stolen Intel but his mother got into a hospital in the process of the operation. There is also that seme's older brother, who could testify, that the Intel ended up in the redhead's hands, which shows, that he is connected to the matter. And, while the uke doesn't have power to stand up against the wealthy and powerful (that is until he tells his father about the matter), the seme does. He is obviously the wealthy and powerful himself, he also has family members, that could help, and yet he doesn't really do much. And I didn't read past the uke's arrest.
All in all, this comic is just atterly stupid, it is also pretty boring. And it's not a matter of my "taste", it's the matter of quality. Thus it doesn't really matter how many blind people like this thing, it's rating can't be this high.

Uh well I can already see some wrong points in ur statement but I will leave it at that cus I will take too much time and effort to explain but if u read past the arrest u will see that Gio helps solve the situation. Ofcrs the villains get persecuted later in the story u just need to be patient. Also the couple met becuz Gio needed a bodyguard for safety cus that's the beginning of the story so if he didn't come across multiple assassination attempts then that would be weird instead. Ur point abt how Felix didn't turn to his father in the story for protection isn't plausible either. isn't it obviously becuz of lack of trust and confidence.... And the explanation can go on and on but ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I agree. I felt that the author was very lazy on most of these details. This is a popular “ rich x working class” trope, where the seme literally does everything for the uke - even buying him a house & everything he needs and putting him in a very convenient situation. Its most likely so the reader can insert themselves and fantasise about it. This manga seems to be created for the sole purpose of being popular, i do not see the plot being well developed or planned, because of how everything progresses. It feels as the author is making things up as they go, and putting smut when things get boring. This manga was funny, but i cant rate it more than 4/10 personally. Waste of art.

The relationship does not seem healthy trust wise. I am glad they communicate well usually, but it seems that one of them always get jealous of the other for being with another man. I feel as there is no trust and they barely communicate on this matter ( the uke/seme have to find out why the other is jealous on their own) and the author just goes along with it. Meh

They never stated that. You should write their valid opinion off with “ when have you ever seen perfect logic” . You shouldnt be happy with what you got just because its “ not perfect”. There are good nuances within the story but it seems very plotless to me, especially in season 2. I feel like people who like smut would like this, but thats it. Beyond that its very boring ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Oh finally a person with eyes! This world is not completely lost! And yes, that's exactly how it works with these cheap comics/novels, it's known by those talentless authors what to stuff their stories with so that readers who yearn for some self satisfuction can achieve it through the MC, and the work becomes commercially successful. While the story itself is not a real story, the characters are not live people, it's all fake and dead. I believe there should already be some terminology for this recent phenomena though I don't know it...
Still, even if people like it and read it regardless- it's up to them and their needs, but the rating must not be exaggerated like thus, it's not something, that represents how people like it, it's supposed to represent the product's quality, nothing more, nothing less.
There is a problem with rating on this site specifically though: the moment you rate something it is put into the "already read" folder and then you'll get the update notifications even if you hate the comic and have no intention on reading it ever again =/ which is not a problem for people who rate it highly and continue reading... while I have to delate my mark if I don't want it to further irritate me... that leads the the problem's worsening..

Agreed. I was surprised myself how this was so well-rated on this website, and how people are saying its a “very recommended “ read. To each their own i guess. I see no point in reading this unless someone wants to read some good old smut, but even that isnt very well presented. Fiction or not, this story doesnt seem alive, as you said. I am not sure how to describe it, but i feel as the author themselves didnt care much for the story. They have made other relatively better written mangas in the past, so i can only assume this is one of the reasons. Something popular and easy to read. I am not surprised in a way, as most mangago readers are relatively young fujoshis, haha.. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

First of all, you are very rude when expressing your opinions which is totally uncalled for. The other person who defended you was polite enough so at least her/his opinion is worth listening to. This isn't a cheap web toon and the author is not talentless which is obviously proven by so many more people defending this web toon. You are practically an ignorable minority. The story is obviously not real it even has supernatural factors the author probably added only for the sake of romance. This web toon does have a proper story too but it's just a small story that could be finished in fewer chapters so expanded this way makes it look like it's only full of smut. U think the characters seems fake but they aren't as bad as u make them sound. Certainly there are mangas which display human emotions and reactions more appropriately but it's not that bad here either. U r requesting a perfect story with perfect characters with perfect everything but that's just pointless to be honest.

Well, I kinda agree with you. I'm gonna hate the next trope of gio being insecure, I hate insecure relationships. I hate that every time they have sex, Felix asks gio to stop and he just continues and it is implied that Felix wants it.
I basically hated every manhwa I read because of cliche tropes, dub con, and got easily angry at every character.
But then I started focusing on the small cute moments, true season 2 is kinda plotless, but I love the art, like when something cute or not be be taken seriously stuff is being said, the characters are drawn very small for that panel, and that is my favorite thing which was not common in season 1.
I don't love it because "it is not perfect" lol it's just I don't compare it the real life, which itself doesn't have perfect logic.
I would be creeped out if such things happen in real life. But since it can happen in fiction without any consequences, I like it.
Of course I also like this comic cuz so many uncensored scenes are there ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄

Oh? So the author can actually write decently but in this case decided not to and just preferred to make easy money without straining their brain? This is even more upsetting...
As for stories made just for smut- why don't they do one-shots then, as it is supposed to be, why waste so much time on empty interactions of the characters =/ this is also kind of silly, as for me...
Mmm young fujoshis shouldn't read stuff like this, it is illegal, they should first aquire some basic education and reach the legal age...

I mean its not another toxic af manga where they get jealous/angry (sometimes abusive) at the other person. The manga is just another rich/businessman who spoils his helpless lover. I like this manga because the reason Geo and Felix met and developed their relationship is something I have never seen in a manga. I also love the art style but I do wish instead of sex scenes about every chapter, for there to be date scenes or something. Geo isn’t abusive or makes false assumptions like other mangas, but yeah.

I agree with you. I gave it 5 star because i totally love this story. Their relationship is not toxic. And im so in love with the character development and the plot. I rarely gave manga/manhwa/manhua 5 star tho. If i gave it , it means i really like the works. Not to mention i only follow works with good rating, read it and judge myself. Just because this story is not your cup of tea, doesn't mean it's the same for everyone. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

How many manga u see with high rating but the story is obviously toxic and the seme / uke unnecessarily possessive and manipulative? Rape? Have u read koisuru boukun? Hidoku shinaide? Sekaiichi hatsukoi? Also Manga with big boobs and harem (like tf?) But some people still read it anyway since they like those kind of stories. The fact that this manhwa have many audience means that people do like this kind of work . You might not see what the avid reader see in this manhwa. Like i said if it's not your cup of tea then nothing we could do. Your opinion is not a fact but merely your opinion on this manhwa just like mine. It's my opinion that this manhwa is good enough to get high rating, so i gave 5 star. It's a matter of preference. Kids shouldn't be near this kind of story. This story clearly intends for 18+ reader, if a kid is here reading this, their parents should be blame for not keeping their child in check. It's their responsibility not the authors. We are grown up enough to know this is fictional works so why so serious? ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

Wtf with you? If you really hate it , don't read it and make your OWN story. Maybe you are more talented with your logic and drawing. . Why you make a fuss about rating?? That's mean many people like this story and nobody care about your damn shit. . Omo. . Please stop it. I know this is your opinion but please just keep it with yourself. .

So truee. Like u can hate it of course but why do people like us who like the story need to be blame for giving it high rating. Do we need to follow your taste too? Obviously it is because we like this story so much and adore the characters that's why we gave high rating like that. Simple logic.
┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

Im not sure about that. There have been many instances where Giovanni/Felix have gotten jealous over the other, going as far as to say they cant be in the same room with the other man. It seems very obsessive and possesive to me. Yes they are in love, but they seem to have this unspoken fickleness with their definition of “ trust” in the relationship if that makes sense. Idk. I feel as this authors other works, specifically “ till our lips touch” was better thought-out and written.

Well I was also initially drawn by the potential... I mean, the idea has some attractiveness, also the art... but it's like the author wasn't even thinking about what they were writing, there are such obvious mistakes, that don't require some sophisticated intelligence to get noticed... like that moment: they signed a contract which requires both parties' approval to be canceled, but then the bottom runs around with that resignation latter and the top is very scared that the guy would actually resing, then threatens him and binds him with handcuffs. Come on, this just couldn't be more unreasonable, the bodyguard can't resign without breaking the law, the top has no reason for that concern. But the author wanted to use that kind or contract at the beginning to show the top's possessiveness, and then she ignored what she wrote previously to spice things up with that struggle of theirs. Very clumsy...
Well, I'm not sure about the jealousy part of the story, I didn't read that far :)
Anyway, it's a pity that the author didn't put more effort into making the story consistent, but with how the masses eat it without choking, I can see why the author decided to just make money happily without straining their brain power :)

Honestly when i first started reading this i didnt like the plot so much as well. Idk maybe i thought there were plotholes those stuff as u say HMT has. But when i re-read it again but slower I got to say it made more sense. Maybe its just me but i really ended up liking the story more ten-fold maybe pushing the "logic" aside(which seriously the main plot literally is a main charac not having to feel heat except with one dude COME ON wtf is logic even to this comic?? Hahahah). I focused more on the chemistry between the couple and mygwad they have the best and cutest one ive seen in manhwa. Healthy and very well-developed relationship. Just seeing how much they mattered to each other was the thing the shined out to me. How they'd really do anything for each other and that became more apparent in the future chapters.
Really I just love this manhwa too much and I really see why this has a good rating. Its definitely a u thing that ur bugged about what's bothering u on the comic but yeah that's just me
Noon, I only just started reading it and it's already on break... T_T
