I know many people won’t agree with this, but I think Eusto is actually a little bit annoying. He keeps jumping in front of MC to fight, even when you can see that the MC already has her hand on her scabbard. I know you’re probably thinking that he’s doing this because she’s the empress. But it doesn’t really seem like that to me at all. It seems like he’s behaving like that because he thinks she needs ‘protecting’ as a romantic interest.
i agree with you it’s getting annoying i wanna see my hot empress fight and he keeps getting in the way when she’s strong on her own
I mean it is his job tho, like im sure there is that element, its probably why he act so quickly but it is his responsiblity as her knight to make sure she doesnt have to pull her sword. You see it in other stories where it 2 males or 2 females, unless its a war/battle situation where they need to prove their power or hold their own, and unless its cases with extremely stubborn rulers that find ways to make the knights job harder. It is usually the case where the knight goes out of his/her way to protect the ruler/master and make sure they dont Have to pull their own sword. I do think eusto is prompt because of his love interest but not so much so. Hes just doing his job

I agree with you, but if his intention was to make sure the empress wouldn’t have to draw her sword, he would have at least tried to tell the empress that he would go to the scene of the crime himself, or bring a second guard to make sure he doesn’t have to leave the empress alone
