An ICONIC masterpiece, honestly I don't know how many times my jaw was dropped, agaped, absolutely flabbergasted during this read. This will certainly be one of my timeless favourites added to my collection!!!
It sucks when parents try to make you feel guilty and put the emotional burden on you, especially when you're a child. I had to appease my mother whenever she vented about how hard her life is and how I was useless around her. I had to keep quiet because if I didn't I would have gave in to violent tendencies that I was afraid becoming. I wanted to scream but I could only sit there and listen to her.
Nowadays I don't talk to her at all. Because most of the time we could never have a proper conversation, it'd just lead to me listening to her vent her emotions on me. And I don't think I'll ever talk to her in the future.
I'd never want to put a child through that. I'd never want anyone feel as shitty as I did back then.
But I hope that 'Hikaru' will stop pretending to be Hikaru. I know that Yoshiki will probably be devastated, but he really needs to let Hikaru be grieved. "Hikaru"/Unnuki-sama has to return Hikaru to his grave and be their own person. Or deity? Idk
When eunyung is feeding haejoon as a child because he sees him as someone who believes in him so he can trust and be honest with him like a child, am I overanalyzing probably BUT STILLL MY HEARTTT THESE TWO ARE SO PRECIOUS TO MEEE
I have been following this story for a long time... At first I was hooked on the fact that he was a monster and had insane skills... The dynamic between his comrades was pretty interesting and the world building was super cool... Now it feels like the power scale just keeps getting higher and higher with more focus on fighting than the storyline we were promised... Though that might just be me complaining about the pacing..
I wanna know what's gonna happen with the centipede guy and if the revenge will ever be in fruition....
My memory is fuzzy so feel free to correct me in the replies!
The fact that 'Hikaru' or the Brainsnatcher was a being that grants wishes, obviously it ain't a god. Since it was repelled by the shrine, and all. But people still worshipped it and gave it offerings, offering that usually consists of human head. And now we learn that the Brainsnatcher's name is 'Unuki-sama'.
We can assume that Unuki-sama was responsible for keeping the spirits of the offerings (dead decapitated people) isolated and within the mountains. With the travelling priest being murdered perhaps the village was cursed?
And the ghosts that gather are a result of the resentment of those who were murdered in the past... The Indoh's sin must be either protecting the village or murdering someone named 'Hichi' (The small wooden head Hikaru was carrying before he died)
Is Hichi the priest that was murdered? Is that why when Hikaru died, the Brainsnatcher was released? Because the doll of Hichi's head wasn't returned to the temple?
Safe to say, someone's karma is involved here.
