so let's talk about first chapter when she killed herself.
if her father really liked her, why the dagger ?
and so if she killed herself back there ,then her father went insane or something?
and the prince? What was his role in 1st chapter? To release her ?torture ?or what?
I really wanna know that
I think he was being cold to her on purpose (in addition to his awkwardness) due to the Emperor. Since the Max said that the Emperor has a hold of the Duke's weakness. It might be connected to the blue ring that the Emperor is wearing since it's been emphasized in multiple frames already so there must be a meaning behind it. And it kinda looks similar to the thing (was it a brooch or a necklace) that she found.
She is pretty much an unreliable narrator since she pretty much doesn't know what goes on behind the scenes. I assume since the King wanted to keep the duke on a leash, he kept testing him to see how much he treasures his daughter. Since if the duke tries to be very affectionate then the king will pretty much take advantage of that.
This gives a whole new concept to the poisoning incident. The king never looks at his children anything aside from his tools. I assume he's actually the one who poisoned his own daughter and frame the MC to again, test the duke's loyalty. The phrase "how could I trust you" and the duke replying "then I'll put her in the shadow room" pretty much she'd light to the actual situation. Also, I agree that the dagger is for self defense and the crown prince— in his own way will try and get her out soon. I really know what happened next after she committed suicide. I hope there's a flashback to the alternate reality even if it's just an extra chapter

So basically he’s cold to her because of the stupid ass emperor who’s a bitch keeps a very close eye on him. So if he saw him acting warm and kind to her he would do something to harm her but the dad truly loves his daughter. He gave her the dagger to protect herself and since the crown prince is his pupil or something he sent him there to rescue her but she ended up killing herself. I read that when the dad found out about her death he went crazy and killed literally everyone :/
yes yes... im pretty sure she unreliable character with how diff the dad actually is than the one shes describing... and i also believe that he give the dagger for her to protect herself before he saves her... and if all of this is true i really wish they clear up the misunderstand quickly because the misunderstanding here is so overwhelming for me( ̄∇ ̄")
I think the Emperor already knows that she was the Duke's weakness so he just kept on putting a cold front so that the Emperor wouldn't think of using it to his advantage like RandomPerson has stated. I think the MC mentioned that her Mom died early? Tho she IS an unreliable narrator. Do y'all think that the Emperor might be holding the mother captive?
