In the middle of reading, I thought if it turns out that haru left any type of message or letter that has a hint of approving their relationship I would be so pissed. I am actually glad the story turned out bitter. Haru just can't suddenly give up her ambitions, it wouldn’t be fair for her. Not justifying all of her selfish thoughts but it must be hard knowing the person she loves love her sister in death bed.
Also, I think it is a fair punishment for tougo, who dated someone he doesn’t even like and hurt her feelings. Now he has to watch the person he actually loves suffer because of the mess he made. As much as I love tougo and natsumi, I think both tougo and haru should suffer the consequences of their selfishness
