This one is a rec for this list because of how fucked up it is - may seem like ur typical rapey smut, but it's got unexpected layers of psychological angst & existential horror even under that. The uke MC keeps a strong spine despite hid circumstances, & the story really conveys a feeling of the trauma of living in a hyper-controlling military state during a decades-long slowburn apocalypse. You really get the feeling everyone's coping with how shit the world is in their own bad ways.

This is a Guideverse story has pretty good amut, but where it really shines is its dialogue and characterization.
