I personally thought it was a good lesson for a lot of the fushouji out there. Since they can’t differentiate reality and fiction and end up fetishizing gay people in real life or unintentionally hurting them or being a great nuisance.

again you talking in a way that if the "fushouji" were thinking in the same way and had the same mind set. what in a lot of cases is not really true. I"m fushouji and I don't ship people in real life, it had nothing to do with differentiate reality and fiction, it just weird to me.

I think people still can see the different between reality and fiction and still ship people in real life, in a fantsy way that won't harm anyone. so it really didn't felt like it teaches fushouji anything. you can't teach someone while using stereotypes. at least that how she felt to me, she didn't felt like a human been in real life, and this is the problem.

again there is nothing wrong with liking it in a manga either. people like to read what THEY LIKE to read. you have no right to judge them for enjoying that.

I agree with you on 2 things.
1. nothing wrong with liking it in a manga. It's people's freedom to read whatever they like.

2. people can ship who they want to ship as long as it stays in the fantasy world ONLY.

Exactly once it's out in the real world and real people that are actually involved get involved, inconvenienced or have their relationship harmed because of such fantasies then whoever made those fantasies known to the real people is at fault. The one who's making people uncomfortable for their own fantasies and delusion is the one who needs to be careful.
For example: an old dude spreading his fantasies about a woman and her sexual life or relationships is considered sexual harassment. The same rules apply to anyone of any gender spreading unwanted fantasy about the sexual/romantic life of anyone from any gender. I highly don't appreciate hearing what detailed stories other people make up about me any of my friends and their relationship and I doubt anyone will want to hear it either. Keep it to yourself and your close group of friends and just don't let others catch on to those fantasies which will be considered creepy or ridiculous by the real people. And if you want to go the legal route, it can be considered defamation of character depending on what is being said/ spread around.

If I didn't say "many" then it's generalization because I'm applying a set of rules to EVERYONE. "many" is not generalization it is simply a statement that there's a certain amount of people, in this case "many" of this population who do what is said. It also implies that the rest who are not included in this many don't do that.

Regarding old people, they are wrong in doing it as well obviously. I didn't say anything because they're not the topic of discussion. Just because there are other people committing the same mistake doesn't make it better or justify it.

Finally, a good percentage in this case simply means a good enough percentage for me to notice it more often than I want. "A good percentage" is vague and has no numerical statistical value. Thus, I'm free to define it however I like. In this case it means "a good enough percentage for me to notice/ consider it a prevalent characteristic.
As for how do I know... It's literally as stated I've noticed those traits in this population more often than I'd like. Especially the age range I specified. It was more likely for them to act upon the stereotypes I've stated.
How do I know?
Personal interactions with different people of different ages, internet posts, personal observations about people who identify as "fushoji" and "weebs", etc. I've also had many people complain to me about their experiences with fushoji and of course homophobes, but homophobes are an obvious problem with their intentional toxicity and they're not the current topic of discussion.
If you want more people's opinions, look at the comments. So many admit to acting exactly as described. Also, if it wasn't an issue I don't think the author would have bothered bring it up and use this much space to illustrate it.

P.S. Let me bring to your attention that it is also my right to compile and talk about my own personal observations.

Feel free to call it generalization if I ever say "all" or "most". On the other hand, I have not made any generalizations as long as I haven't used those terms or claimed that the general majority of a population have those characteristics. Generally speaking, and generalization are not the same, and what I've been doing is the former. I'm not making a general statement by inferring from specific cases. I'm making it based on several observations and a collective opinion of colleagues involved in the anime and manga scene and the lgtbq community.

Also, I don't judge anyone for enjoying anything... I have my own fetishes as well you know. Besides if I didn't enjoy yaoi I wouldn't have been here. I only judge those who harm others, and sometimes even sexually harass them for their own pleasure.

I"m glad that at least you agree to some things. I won't start to speak about how many crazy people we have in this world, that will take forever, but I will say it doesn't apply to only the age group. like many people love to include only those kind of ages, which again is not true cause I meet plenty of people in this age group that doesn't do that or thinks like this that actually very smart.

I think that this problem, we talking about, does not only go for age. I think it a problem that go with the mind. but again that is only what I think, since I saw and meet people in different ages that act differently from each other.

the topic of this discussion, from what I get, is people that ship other's for their enjoyment and maddle in other's life cause they feel like it.
has I said before, in this story we don't see any lesson or good things to learn from it. even if this problem exist, this story does not bring it or teach against it in a good way cause of the fact that it shows it has only a stereotype alone. it the same has the stories about high school girls - nerd vs popular girls. it all known stereotype's that been use and still be used today, it's not teach anything about the real situation if you don't show people in a complex way, cause people are not one thing - evil vs good. they are a world of their own.

showing the problem in a stereotype way not only does not teach us anything, but it make us agree with offending types on people that just generalize many people into one group of people. it a bad taste, if you asked me. and that's why I really didn't like how she was shown and how the topic was handled in this story, but that's just me.

I never said people outside of a certain type or age aren't crazy. Different people act differently. And there are exceptions to every rule. To use your argument against you, why did you point out that she was actually an old lady? Why do you remember the incident? why were the only options to think she's "weird" or ignore it.
I think it's because you already found it to 1. be a "weird" uncommon situation 2. uncomfortable/ silly so you decided to ignore it.
Btw saying "I think you two suit each other" is one thing and "I'd love to see you two kiss or fuck" is another.

Obviously this problem isn't limited to a certain age. It's just more prevalent in certain groups of people than others. It's rude to assume in anything about anyone you haven't met in real life. When I said especially ages 14-18, I based it of actual people I've come across in real life or people who's ages were explicitly stated/ known. Again I never said anything about the fact that there are so many quit witted and intelligent 12, 14 years old and people of different younger or older ages. It depends on each person. I personally met so many very intelligent kids and don't like people underestimating anyone due to age. BUT, sadly I've met a bigger amount of immature 14 year olds than say 20 year olds. It is something that comes with age. Thus the phrases "mature for their age" and "immature for their age" exists. It implies there's a general apparent pattern in each group. Though in many cases it underestimates the intelligence of the younger audience. So I disagree with saying most 14-16 year olds can't differentiate between reality and fiction. But I do agree with there are more 12-16 years old who can't differentiate in comparison to the amount of 20-30 who cant. Thus, I said it's more prevalent in that age group.

Here's an advice for you, when you're trying to win an argument. Disprove an explicitly stated point don't state other points that were never brought up. For example in this case, if I say a good percentage of fushoji especially ages 14-18 do this. You will have to prove no most fushoji especially the ones in that age range DO NOT do this.
Because we both already know and agree upon the fact that 1. not everyone is like that
and 2. people of other populations and age groups do that too
The point of disagreement is "this type of behavior is more prevalent in this group of people than other groups" to dispute it, you just have to prove either 1. it's a harmless behavior or 2. it's more prevalent in other populations/ groups of people.
Because anything else doesn't add to or take away anything from the argument.

Yes, you're right. The girl used is very flat and the whole liking bl and forcing ideals on others was very stereotypical. It could have been done better.

Well the author never said she’s meant to represent a whole group. She’s just an individual.
