Okay, so am I the only one that doesn't understand the score? What’s with all the hate toward Mizuki? Like, I’m actually shocked. And, I know I'm not teenager or whatever, but the comments and hate that the main character gets is really surprising, considering the fact that I’ve seen our main leads do so much worse and get forgiveness! It’s kind of ridiculous. Okay beyond this point will be spoilers, but for those going into this, read it objectively and don’t listen to the comments. Read it for yourself because it is a cute school boy romance. So, have fun!

Anyway, as we know this is a sequel with the main character being Mizuki, the one who bullied Itsumi in the previous story. So, we are following Mizuki after Seima basically tells him to fuck off. And he’s heartbroken because he was in love with Seima. Crying alone, Mizuki is approached by Fuji, and he tells him everything after being caught. They basically start interacting more, and eventually realize they have feelings, but misunderstandings, you know how it goes. Fuji believes that Mizuki will only love Seima. Mizuki believes that he’s not good enough for Fuji. In turn, tries desperate measures to get Fuji to hate him. He literally rides him, trying to have sex with him, and acting like he didn’t care about any of it, even after being sexually assaulted by one of the guys that helped bully Itsumi in the first story. Through all that, it was Mizuki crying out to be accepted. He started to believe that he deserved the mistreatment he got because of what he did in the past. The character growth is considerably good here, since Mizuki has redemption and wants it, but feels he doesn’t deserve redemption.
Listen, we all experience feelings of inadequacy at different points in our lives. This is the prime example of it we see with Mizuki. This can lead people to self destructive behaviors and self loathing. He was desperate to be Seima’s number one and failed in the process. In turn, he starts to believe that he breaks everything and is truly unworthy, although he hides behind an optimistic facade when in school around others. He’s insecure because of his appearance. In turn, he tries to change himself to fit in. What he did was bad, but throughout the story we genuinely see him struggle to move on from it, not just because he loved Seima, but because he realized it was wrong. He empathetically puts himself in Itsumi’s position at times, realizing what it felt like to be bullied. So, I don’t really understand where all the hate is coming from in this. The story’s been done before. Yes, it’s not perfect, and I have a few flaws. I think that Mizuki could have been fleshed out a little more and Fuji for that matter, seeing more insecurities in him, but the characters are lively and you do empathize with them. I think this story is just as good as its predecessor. It;s sweet and lovely and just what you need to get in a good mood.I scored full so I can help bring the score up.

no i read the original first actually which made me deny the story more seeing Mizuki's remorse

You have to think that Itsumi isn’t the only person that was targeted my mizuki. If he’s was that hostile when Seima approached Itsumi imagine what he did to people how purposely got close to seima. But I’m also one to stop reading a manga if the seme or uke is an asshole

Like, this might have been one the best yaoi I have read, so I cannot believe the fucking score for this compared to how many people have voted. The characters are stereotypical to a certain degree, but there is significant character development in this five chapter manga. Sure, at first I was going to just stop reading because of the way it started. I hate rape in yaoi so I try to avoid it, but I kept growing because I've read other blackmail sorts of manga and some of them have turned out fantastic. Of course I don't condone blackmail of any kind, but let's remember this is fiction. I am usually fine with blackmail, if 1) it isn't the focus of the story, and 2) if the person, whether the uke or seme, seems treats their partner well in the end, despite how it may start out. I am a suck for stories like this because it involves the element of unexpected feelings. I love it when the characters are caught off guard by the fact that they are falling in love with each other. Like, I thought that Kyoya was going to be a dick for the whole book and then completely switch personas to seem like he was genuinely sorry for his actions just to give it a happy ending, you know? But, this manga does very well with setting up each of the characters and we learn little details about both of their personalities as the manga goes on.

There will be spoilers beyond this point

I really thought that Yuzuru was going to be this helpless uke that just tolerates anything, and it my come off that way, but it is only because he is vulnerable and not accustomed to relationships with others. So, in the context of the story, it makes sense. Yes, maybe the beginning starts of a little fan servicey and cliche, but honestly after the first chapter, the story really starts. The pacing is really done well and the development of not only explored, so is Kyoya.

First, Yuzuru, who doesn't know how to meet people or socialize very well, learns to over time after he meets Kyoya, and begins socialize more and more without noticing it. When he spoke to Mai and she gave him that advice, Yuzuru saw where he may have closed off from people. As his relationship with Kyoya deepens, he starts to differentiate the meaning of friendship and what falling in love is. His personality is also fully shown to us as he becomes more confident and takes the initiative by the end. He is not the same as he started out. Kyoya, as well, starts off as a huge dick wad, but slowly we see little bouts of kindness from him that reveal who is character is, not only to Yuzuru but also to us, as the audience. From bad pasts experiences, Kyoya has chosen to assimilate, ultimately sacrificing a part of his identity so he wouldn't get hurt again. He didn't care to be popular, and that is shown. At first, it seems like he is a playboy and all, but once he starts hanging out with Yuzuru, we see how disinterested his is in the big crowd that he so desperately tried to fit in with since he was younger. It makes sense that over the years, he became bitter and hated himself for not staying true to himself. Because he'd rather be with Yuzuru, we see how he allows himself to connect with someone. All is revealed that he actually is very much like Yuzuru, desperate for a friend and a deeper connection, but his trust issues keep him from letting others in, which is also seen when Mai says that he closes himself off from others. He was just scared of being hurt again. And what makes this manga so good is that Kyoya actually apologizes for his actions, and even owns up to what he did wrong. He explained himself but din't make excuses. I love that because we really don't see that a lot in manga that are executed in this way. I thought this was so cute and lovely. The romance is depicted realistically over time. even though they start off as sex friends, it does take them awhile for their feelings to develop. That's what I really like about this manga. Both characters grow and learn from each other. I have also had experiences similar to both of them, being isolated, and isolation myself because I don't want to put myself through the hurt of getting myself involved in a friendship where I might get hurt. So, I think that they way both of them seek companionship, though executed very differently, really does a great job showing how they overcome their hurdles and finally be together.

I do have to say one thing though. I really hate how people will rad a manga and then after the first chapter, score it low for some petty reason. Like people will give a story a bad score if the translation isn't perfect. Like stop being so full of yourself. You rate a story based on the story not bullshit that has thing to do with the writing or the art. And, speaking of that, people will rate a story lower just because the art isn't to their liking. Stop doing that! When you rate it low over stupid things, it makes people think the story is bad and turn away. I really hate when stupid people do that. Read the story and judge it based on how it is presented and written, not because you didn't like how it started out. Because those people that rated it low probably stopped after the first chapter, which is a shame because they missed out on a really good manga, that is cliche to an extent, but the execution is done in a cleaver way that genuinely took me by surprise, and by now, reading so much yaoi, only very few really do that. I wish this would get a higher score instead of people once again just being stupid. Okay, done with my mini rant. If you made it to the end of this, please read this manga. I thank the mangaka who put her time to make this terrific story as well as the beautiful art.

Personally, I must agree that there was a certain amount of character development, but I feel like there really wasn’t a peak/turning point to Kyoya’s character that provided to be realistic or true to time in a sense. What I mean by this is that it felt rather rushed, and there wasn’t enough emotional turmoil between the main characters to allow for the amount of character development seen in the manga. Anyways, I just wanted to share what I thought, but kudos to you for writing some pretty good paragraphs :)

I actually liked both stories. I liked the characters and they well well enough paced for shorter stories. Sure, it's run of the mill, but the art is gorgeous, and it's still a good enough read. It's cute and sweet, just how I like it. This might the first time I like both stories in a manga without being annoyed with one of the stories. There always seems to be that one with multiple story manga, but this one had two stories I was invested in finishing, so please read it, and also can we try and raise the score a little I feel like 8.3 is low for what we gt out of these stories I'm not saying it's a masterpiece, but it should be in the higher 8's for what we got.

2019 has been really good for yaoi so far, jeez and this is so cute, sweet, fluffy. I'm literally dead. This has everything I love, appealing characters, straightforward plot, tight pacing, romance as sweet as vanilla, childhood friends. Yes! Like checking off boxes on a checklist. I also love how the characters aren't stereotypes. Personally, when I read yaoi, idc that much about positions and stuff. I mean I like to find ones that break tropes like this one. Ugh, so good and cute. I just love seeing to two boys being all sweet and cute, and then of course the smex, but fluffy is just as nice. Anyway, I might be strange, but I love height differences so much. It's like so much cuter. I like the development here, we see insecurities from both ends and get to see both perspectives. i love that more yaoi are following this trend with multiple pov, it adds more of a layer I feel like. But, I also think this was funny. Like, I actually laughed at few moments. And the art is beautiful. Jeez, this had me swooning so bad.

I really really love this one. In the grand scheme of things, the plot isn't original or anything. We have a Uke who's afraid to love because of the pain he holds from the past, and an Seme that is stoic, but is also just as scared, honestly. Personally, I kind of like when things drag out just a bit because it feels more rewarding when they finally confess and end up together. I also like how intuitive Sei is when it comes to Misumi, and I love how Misumi shows his emotions for Sei because he isn’t as expressive. Because he has Misumi, he doesn't have to worry about what his father thinks of him, although it is very sad that his own parent only sees him as a commodity and doesn’t love him unconditionally, which is what probably also contributes to his inexpressive nature, especially since he wasn't allowed to have what he wanted as a kid. Over time, it seemed maybe he just gave on things he wants and become kind of numb to everything until he meets Misumi, which is what I love about it. They both compliment each other well and the romance is nicely paced, as well as cute and sweet.
There are a few things I was annoyed with, but I get annoyed with just about everything so it’s just me nitpicking honestly. I enjoy the side characters especially Kiyo, such a sweetie, I love how much he supports the couple without being all ‘Confess your love and what not.’ He’s very subtle about it. I think I always have a soft spot when there are older man side characters because they’re always so nice and bring more enjoyment to the story for me. I also think the execution of the story is what I like and the development of the characters. I also love what the Ukes are more sexually liberated instead of having the seme do all the work. Like hello, it takes more than one person to create passion, and there's much more passion when it’s raws. And Oh boy the smut. This author is so good at her work that it makes me swoon. I just adore it. Ugh! I love this story and probably will come back to it a hundred times over. You should read this, it’s very lovely, and refreshing in it’s own way.

Whoo! This might be one of the best stories I’ve ever read. There are so many things to say about this manga. First, I love the characterization of both Theo and Oz. Honestly, I don’t know much about Amish culture or religion, which is why I was a little hesitant, but the execution is done very well and naturally. (There are spoilers beyond this point so I just wanted to let anyone know who hasn’t read). At first, it is mistake between Oz and Theo where we learn about what Oz does on the side, which again, is a very natural way of introducing the character. After their miscommunication, they start off as friends, they develop a natural connection with each other. I love the pacing and authenticity of the characters. Theo is naive and innocent, and such an adorable guy, but he’s not stupid. He’s actually very intuitive because he can understand Oz from a mile away. It’s actually impressive how well the author portrays that throughout the story. You see growth in Theo, because he makes the choice to leave even before confronting it with Oz. He already knew what he wanted, and he knew the sacrifice of that. He learned to choose his own desires. I also love Oz’s characterization as well. His strive to become a dancer is admiring. His determination to be on Broadway and the pressure to make it there for his father blinded him to why he wanted to become a dancer in the first place. When he didn’t make it through, it was like a part of him gave up for awhile, until he meets Theo. I like that both of them are changed for the better as a result of their encounter. Theo learns what he truly desires, and Oz learns to accept what he truly wants instead of pushing him away. What I enjoy is that the author doesn’t go through the usual trope where Oz outruns his feelings for Theo (well until the end, but only for a little bit, and it his reasoning also made sense in context with the story). You see him becoming more attached to Theo as the story progresses and I love how authentically it is portrayed. Of course he doesn’t expect to fall in love with an Amish boy, but Theo was the one that loved Oz for everything he was and continually came back. I do feel for Danny and Chloe. It’s sad because the choice between family and what you truly desire for the rest of your life. But, I also liked the theme of selfishness that was in the story. Sometimes we have to do selfish things to truly be happy. That means that you might have to risk sacrificing something else. I also appreciated the time and work put into the research, art and writing. It must’ve been extremely difficult, especially if it is from a culture that is not your own. To me that adds a layer of appreciation and depth to an already, I would say, flawless story. You see, this is what actual creativity looks like. I am appreciative of this story and definitely come back to it time and time again. If you haven’t read it, you really should. It’s so lovely. As an avid yaoi reader, this is definitely in my top ten favorites. It’s so well done. Thanks to those that made it through to the end of my little essay!

I've been waiting for this to update for so long so I could start reading it. I hate reading manga that is still ongoing. I'm glad. I liked that this story was straightforward without any big love rivals, rape, abuse, you know all that. I liked it. Thanks for the translators for making this available.

I really feel that there's going to be a story for the brother. I hope so. Please make it happen. I'm actually really impressed with this author so far.

I was just about to say the same thing, but I'm hoping it's with the younger brother Haruki

    DubL-D March 3, 2019 3:35 am

    Both! (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
Sounds selfish but I'd like a story for Manami's older brother and another for Makoto's younger brother. Not sure if I'd like those two to be TOGETHER,
    but stories with them nonetheless

Does anyone know if there's only an extra left, because I want to start reading, but I hate waiting on cliff hangers.

I don't know about it, but by the looks of it it might be like that.

I want to read, but I really hate reading manga that isn't finished, but if there's like only an extra or something I don't mind. Could someone let me know?
