They met each other as childern and he fell in love with her then. there was a flashback about that. Probably around the time Litia talked about the deaths of the other characters.
Oh, then when she entered the palace is that when the other characters begin to like her too? I kinda forgot about the original plot line.
When she came to the capital the main story of the novel starts. Like stories usually go, she will meet one after the other while being with the prince. And his jealousy and Ariels stupidity will get everyone killed - that's the gist of the plot.
So the dad just let it go like that? Is he living elsewhere now and doesn't wonder why she hasn't been home or anything?
Exactly my point.... Why is he so chill...like yeah my daughter is working as a maid but isn't it suspicious when you see that your is not visiting you!?

The pace of the story is awesome. It didn't show every day she spend in the capital and the war wasn't dragged for 10 chapters. Yus traveling to the capital was the fastest I've ever seen.
So I stopped reading this for a long time out of frustration, but didn't she have snake children? What happened to them? And what are those spots under her eyes? I'm unwilling to go through all the frustration again lol.

It's not specifically freckles that are found unattractive, it's just facial blemishes in general. But I think the translation and the way the author portrayed it may have caused a bit of confusion amongst the readers. It's like that though because this manhua is of asian origin and in many such regions the beauty standard for women is basically to have pale, clear skin, and to be super skinny with a body similar in shape to that of a child.
