Also, this manhwa updates so infrequently that I might just read the novel and be done with it. I just really really like the art especially Ilay's face damn artist has godlike hands

Lol totally understandable. The same reason why i read the novel but still waiting for updates on this manhwa. Both are sooo goodddd. The novel is finished so its good to binge read and understand the whole flow while the manhwa is totally beautifulll such an eye candy heheh it also potrays the emotion so well

I feel like ML is a blaring red flag. My red flag senses are tingling damnit. I just want a fluffy love story cmon why is the market saturated with redflags?

Stories like Merry Marbling, Melting Point, Unintentional Love Story, and Projection are really nice. They're somewhat deep in later chapters WITHOUT the needless drama/angst, toxic personalities or backstories, or sexual-abuse-leading-to-romance buildup that some writers exploit a little too much to get attention. There's also space for humor as the protags seem to have a bad start at first and stumble into all sorts of stupid accidents and situations that eventually help them grow feelings for each other. Also, the seme-types here are more caring, funny, and mature in all sorts of ways. The uke-types, for that matter, are not the usual type just wanting to get laid- they're not naive, pathetic, or helpless like most and actually have "character" so to speak.

Sadly no- but you can try Unintentional Love Story- Pibi's older BL which have a lot of similarities with Melting Point. The art isn't as refined as Melting Point though- this one is really topnotch- hard to find anything that comes close. Mint Candy Love and Alpha Trauma are also good- but you'd have to be patient with the uke in Mint Candy Love coz he acts like a jerk to cover up his homophobia while in Alpha Trauma, you have an over naive omega who follows the seme around like a puppy and tries to get under his skin.
Please ping me when the flashbacks end
