I've gone through most of the comments on here and the supportive ones, thank you. The ones that hurt, well, whatever. I can't bother to change the minds of people who think that way while reading off of a pirating site.

Anyways, I've posted an official notice on my Tumblr, but I thought it would be good to notify people here as well; I will no longer be translating CBAW, and all chapters on my site will be taken down shortly. Long story short, I was contacted by TappyToon this morning, and I simply agreed with their conditions to stop (granted, their conditions were all ones that I were going to take myself if my one policy was broken).

I will no longer be translating it, so I encourage you guys to buy CBAW from two official sources from now on,
either the translations on TappyToon ( https://www.tappytoon.com/series/cherrybaw/1),
or from the Korean provider, mrblue ( http://www.mrblue.com/section_webtoon/detail.asp?pid=wt_blossom_wz).

I have been following you on tumblr for your translations since chapter 33. I loved them but now have mixed feelings because of everything that has been shown to light. Everyone is saying you should have never taken donations. You never told us that the author was struggling. Why didn'the you tell us it was in English on tappy toons before? We could have given our money to the author instead of you. Most of us thought this was in Korean only and most donated thinking there was no official English translation. That's why we supported you. We feel duped. Do you plan on apologizing? To the author at least? You took some money that deserved to go to the author without hesitation. And now the author is at a loss because someone took most of her chapters and posted them. So now there is no reason for anyone to buy anything since it's all free here. You aren't even encouraging people to help take down these chapters. Do you really care? Everyone is saying that it will most likely be cancelled since the author didn't want this before and now it's happened.

TappyToons is WAY cheaper than lezhin. If even you guys can't afford tappytoons then you guys probably don't deserve to read this series :) wait until you're working a job first kiddos.

Wait they took donations? No translator should take donations for anything past present or future. Translators do this for the love of translating beautiful works. If money is involved then it's for selfish gains.

    According to the translator:

"I don’t keep any of my donations for myself actually. I convert all of them to coins on mrblue so that even if it did come down to it, I wouldn’t be able to use it on myself at that point even if I wanted to.

I in fact, do repeatedly support the author with the donation money. Mrblue has two options for purchasing: buying, and renting. Buying it is a one-time fee where you always have access to the chapters. Rental is slightly cheaper, and you have access to the chapter for 24-hours. I actually do choose the rental option, but only so that I can purchase them repeatedly and support the author as much as I can. From since I have begun translating until now, I have purchased each set of available chapters well over 20 times.

To your first question, why was I accepting donations in the first place? It was several months ago when I was doing really bad in terms of finances (I had to put down a deposit for college), and couldn’t regularly purchase and scanlate at the moment. I didn’t say that I would completely stop if I didn’t receive donations. Donations were an open option if people wanted to see their translations faster. I always intended to continue scanlating after my financial situation had recovered, which happened quickly since I took on more hours during my shift at work."

Not all translators ask for donations. Translators who ask for money always get backlash. Most ask for donations for an income. The good translators tell us not to give donations and to support a series instead. Which is basically all good series that have not been dropped. They get dropped if donations stop. All the good translators I know have completed a lot of series with good feed back. Check them out some time.

Agree, I've posted my own translations here in the comment section previously, which meant I had to pay for the comics on Lezhin and take time to translate/post. I did it because I enjoyed the episode and wanted others to be able to understand and enjoy it too. It's the author who should be getting paid, translating is more of a goodwill thing, and if we can't afford to support the author, then it's a bit of an ethical dilemma asking for donations.

I know some of those types thing is though I'm also fully aware that at some point it comes crashing down thanks to the lack of money for buying whatever materials they need for translation. I mean if its a very little amount I couldn't care less but translators that ask for more? and work only if they get donations? Yeah that's where I back out and start suspecting. Those groups that do all of this without any money? I think their a godsend a bunch of awesome hard working ppl ☆

On Tumblr: https://senn-sin-scan.tumblr.com/all
Click buttons, scroll through stuff, and you can pretty much find most of it.

Can't Access Tumblr?
@strawberryparkbean on Instagram is the only other account on the entire internet authorized to repost. You may notice that the account is private; this is so that it makes it difficult for companies to track them. Just request to follow and it should be more than okay.

Still can't seem to find a way to read it? Contact me (senn) at [email protected] and we'll work out a solution then.

Is this too much work for you? Well then, just don't read it. If it's too much work for you to click some buttons, then it must also be too much work for you to scroll and move your eyes to process some text and read the manhwa anyways.

    serenryuu June 24, 2018 3:15 am

I don't like being this type of person but if that's too much work for you, let me give a summary of my average week as a comparison.

On Sundays, I spend most of my day at church; yes despite being a translator for the BL genre, I do prioritize my religion, and it's a part of my personal lifestyle.
Up until just a few days ago, I was still a student, so I did have school work until then. In addition to my school work, I go to work on Tuesdays and Thursdays (I'm going to college soon, I need the money).
From Monday to Friday, I balance several hobbies; cosplaying, writing, drawing, planning out to publish my own webtoon, dancing, exercising, cooking, and learning languages (I am currently learning Japanese, and expanding more on Korean).
On Saturday mornings and afternoons, I practice instruments (bass guitar, acoustic guitar, piano) and like to sing. In the late afternoon, I attend church (like I said, it's a big part of my personal life). As soon as I come home in the evening, I work on translations until I sleep (if I have time on Friday, I'll get to it a bit earlier).
If I have time to do anything in between, I do like to play video games.

On average, I get about 3-4 hours of sleep a night. This is a lifestyle I've become accustomed to since awhile ago, so I'll be honest, it doesn't really take a toll on me.

Does it seem like I have an unnecessarily excessive number of hobbies? Yes, looking at it like that, it certainly does.
My point is, in the midst of all my personal life, I do take my own time and sometimes my own money (I'm grateful to have gotten donations recently) with little to no compensation to translate at least 5 different chapters a week (CBAW is not the only manhwa I work on). Translating a chapter alone takes almost 1.5 hours. However, since I work on CBAW on my own, the screenshots, formatting, cleaning, translating, and typesetting takes about 3-4 hours for one chapter.

So like I take time out of my personal life and take time away from some of my precious hobbies, take just a bit of time to click a few more buttons and figure out a way to read it in a way that'll benefit everyone. If you can't do that, just don't read it.
