I don't know why this didn't make sense to me before but now it does. In chapter 1, it is definitely Red telling the story without a doubt. First clue she's talking in first person "I" and we see her picture not Ruce's. Her fingers have the same cuts all over them... then she talks about the other woman Red says "she" as in Ruce liked the hot dry weather in that place but Red herself didn't because it was unbearable. Ruce doesn't do well in cold places whereas Red is always very hot.... so it makes sense for the person speaking is Red while Ruce is absent from chapter 1. Next is the suitcases shown in chapter 1... I hope this isn't a spoiler but Ruce left Red with both of their suitcases and it seems to be the exact same as the ones in chapter 1. Plus Red always liked to hold on to medals etc. Unlike Ruce who doesn't care about them at all and has only ever kept the ones given to her by Red.

If it was Red it kinda seems like her hair is gray/white... and the war was like 30 years ago if I'm not mistaken. So Red should be like 55 years old or somewhere there. No idea how old Ruce would be since all we got is she's much older. I want to guess she's like 10 to 20 years older but no idea. I'm thinking she's close in age to Margot (the older Black dog from Red's childhood). That would mean Ruce could be around 60+ to 75years old. If she did die it could be of old age? Or maybe Red just wants to honour her close friends that may have died in the war like Edge and Bear? Ah well I can't wait to know more (▰˘◡˘▰)

So chapter 42 won't be out today because there's another hiatus. As someone has already mentioned on here about the author/artist's health condition (surgery). The next chapter release (raw) is expected to be March 1st. So we can expect the English translation to follow some time after March 1st. Anyway I'm really hoping for their recovery to go well and that they get the rest they need and deserve during this hiatus
Hey guys I come bearing sad news. As many of us were looking forward to this series returning this week, unfortunately it won't be. There's also no set date for its return as the artist's recovery isn't where they thought it would be. Anyway here's the translated message from Team Gaji and my bad if parts of it doesn't make sense.
Hello, this is Team Gaji.
We are truly sorry to have to repeatedly notify you of the postponement of our return.
As the artist's shoulder recovery is taking longer than originally expected, we have extended the period of absence (hiatus).
Since it is difficult to give a definitive statement on how long my (their?) body will recover, please understand that I cannot specify the time of return.
I had to say hello to you again with a good piece of work, but I am truly sorry for disappointing you again.
I apologize once again.
After recovery, I will return as soon as preparations are complete and continue the series.
I will do my best to make it happen.
Thank you
Yup, probably for the best, they don't announce a definite date when the series will return (something they should have done a long time ago). Otherwise, it just puts unnecessary pressure on them when they don't deliver and postpone again.
thank you
