I feel like I finally found an Ace character in a romance. I loved it.

I just realized all people are mostly talking about is Mafuyu and Yuki and how Mafuyu was able to learn to let go and love another and how he copes up with the grief and all, and everything.

But no one really talks about Ritsuka's feelings that much or about him really.

No one knows how hard it is to love someone who's still grieving about someone else. It's not easy to commit and willingly be with someone whose heart is with someone else. You pick up the broken pieces, help him heal, help him move on all while thinking if you could ever be enough or live up to that person they lost. Feeling like a rebound, a replacement, feeling jealous but you can't be because you can't possibly be jealous and hate a dead person.

It's not easy to willingly be with someone who's past haunts them everyday that now it also haunts you. Everyday is a glimpse of "what if" or "am I enough"

Ofc Ritsuka and Mafuyu moved on. They're happy now and they've learned. I'm Happy for them. I just think Ritsuka deserves more acknowledgement, he's such a good and flawed character, a main character but somehow he gets overshadowed by his lover's past and dead bf, who's sole point was just to be a plot but somehow became much greater than Ritsuka's love, patience, and growth.

Ritsuka still loved Mafuyu in every way, he loved him when he still thought of Yuki, he loved him even when the song he made was clearly about Yuki, he loved him even when his doubts kept creeping in, he loved him despite everything.

He loved Mafuyu despite the pain and the struggle of loving him. He stayed and persisted, believing that his love would shine through and it did y'all, he and Mafuyu are happy now. I just don't understand how anyone could not like him or like Yuki more when Yuki was just there and dead.

Uenoyama could’ve walked away. He could’ve let the frustration and the jealousy swallow him whole. But he didn’t. He stayed.

Even when Mafuyu couldn’t give him all of himself.
Even when every note Mafuyu sang carried someone else’s name.
Even when it hurt.

Because that’s what love looks like when it’s not about possession—it’s about presence.
And Uenoyama… he chose to stay, not because it was easy, but because Mafuyu was worth it, even in pieces.

It’s such a quiet kind of strength, and honestly? That kind of loyalty hits harder than any grand gesture. It shows what person he is and I love him so so much for it.

everyone mad at mafuyu are dumb. like just straight up dumb. not only had mafuyu moved on from yuki, but it's like the CORE part that he moved on and had liked uenoyama pretty early.

Obviously he processes his grief slowly, but he still decided to actually move on with his life, that's why months later he got into a relationship with uenoyama.

And IN FACT I THINK UENOYAMA IS MORE FLAWED, especially in the whole situation. My biggest pet peeve with this series is that Uenoyama finished the song Yuki made for Mafuyu. In the process, he got close to Hiiragi & Shizu and then AVOIDED Mafuyu to finish the song. You know. The EXACTTTTT same thing Yuki did before he DIED. Before he KILLED himself.

And people had the audacity to get mad at Mafuyu for being like "Hey my boyfriend is avoiding me and I don't want music to be the reason my SECOND relationship ends." LIKE WHAT???? HIS BOYFRIEND WAS ACTIVELY AVOIDING HIM AND MAFUYU WAS RIGHTFULLY FRUSTRATED. ESPECIALLY, because this is the same EXACT behavior Yuki did before they got into a HUGE fight and then YUKI KILLED HIMSELF.

And guys PLEASE, from the very beginning, it's like Mafuyu was able to handle and move on with Yuki's death and the only people who want to keep remembering Yuki is literally everyone BUT Mafuyu !!! Of course he's going to miss Yuki because that's his first love, childhood friend, and his best friend. But he legitimately has had feelings for Uenoyama from the beginning of this manga and has romantically LONG MOVED ON FROM YUKI.

Especially the fact that Uenoyama feels obligated to remind Mafuyu of Yuki and complete this song Yuki made. He DOESN'T NEED TO DO THIS. In fact I still don't understand why the fuck he agreed. Because if he refused, he was still going to play for Hiiragi and Shizu anyways !!!!!!!! This whole plot line doing that was just awkward and clearly only made for angst once again.

I feel like I'm going insane because the Mafuyu hate is literally so stupid to me and doesn't make any sense. Because he OUT OF EVERYONE, moved on from Yuki pretty early on in the story. By the time he meets and is enthralled by Uenoyama, he ALREADY MOVED ON. So don't give me crap about how he can't move on because he literally has.

Does mind reader Minamoto know that MC is the BL thoughts guy? I don’t know if I’m interpreting the translations wrong, and he just meant that he’s surprised to see his classmate. Because I don’t remember it ever being covered that he realised the “psycho” is MC

In a bl world, the bl world itself is helping mc fend off potential bl flags. Maybe because mc had already triggered a bl flag, so the other flags cannot be raised.╮(￣▽￣)╭ Anyways, in bl plot, the plot is always plotting.

Mc kun is actually not average npc looking guy he's an unreliable narrator and you can see that when the pov is shifted from him to ppl around him. He's mysterious cool has a mature aura that naturally attracts ppl around him. He's like dokja lol thinking himself to be ugly n what not.


Also i wonder how this Manga would actually end. As a hatano mc shipper, I hope I see them together lol

Mc is really pretty man, I'm sure as low-key he's trying to be a lot of people knows about him. He's the type to be oblivious to his own popularity. I'm sure all those flags he dodged were because dude is actually quite known in uni and his looks are on the superior side ( or I may be talking out of my ass but whatever)
Tbf, hatano or mizumoto I low-key ship both with mc so either way I'll eat good if it happens ╮(￣▽￣)╭

Regarding the mind reader/Minamoto/Mizumoto (his full name is Minamoto Mizumoto and characters seem to switch up which they use for him) guy and to anyone confused as to the recent chapter (89), do they know each other? What's going on?

Well, I decided to go back and reread a bunch of the episodes. All the episodes Minamoto makes an appearance in are as follows: 36, 37, 45, 56 (one panel image), 58, 65.5, 68, 69 (nice) and 89. This is for those who want to check it out themselves.

In none of these do we see the two talking to each other (knowingly), or acknowledge they know each other - MC has often been really near him, in one chapter they had even sat next to each other in the cafeteria. I assume MC knows Minamoto to a degree though, as Minamoto is popular.

So, I can only assume, from what we've seen so far, is that Minamoto knows of MC as a fellow university student and they know of each other's existence. I doubt Minamoto has found out the true source of the "BL world mob" thoughts. The line about his cover being blown is weird though, I can only hope the next chapter may shine some light on it. (Minamoto is also aware or the BL mangaka, Mayama? who is also aware of him, and is acquaintances with MC, so that might be another connection).

holy moly guys chapter 89 is actually kinda awesome I literally freaked out and started emoting

was such a good read quite and I particularly appreciated the part where Hiroki didn't end up with his friend, as it would have been cliché. The indirect rejection allowed him to develop (in terms of his emotions) and move forward, which I found to be very realistic. However, it was still painful for me to see Diego get a girlfriend perhaps even more so than Hiroki. I really liked that the mum looked out for hiroki secretly, it was really heartwarming that she was so open to accepting him and later rooting for him, I hope the lil brother have a better story ahead of him ! and the dad gets a thumbs up for his redemption arc!! hiroki has such a great support system.. again this was such a great read 10/10 would recommend

Just finished chapter one. I love it! Especially I really love the narrative style. It's like I was watching a movie, with all the background noises and overall atmospheric vibe.. and how the internal dialogue was executed is just *chef kiss
