The MC is NOT a pushover, and he actually had the potential to be such a believable character, but they shove all that down the drain for the convenient happy ending. The alpha guy is actually the fuckin worst. Like he knew he messed up, he could have TALKED ABOUT IT with yu, with yu's boyfriend, something!!!! but noooo drama king over here just started yelling at yu and fucked off to some other country.
Or he could have tried to dissolve the bond. You're telling me the guy who went to another country to research on heat-suppressants for paired omegas and somehow ended up concocting an omega-transitioning pill couldn't try to figure out a way to unpair with yu??? Really????
And this bitch didn't once try to tell mc how he really felt. not once. and that ending scene where he confessed to everything was so self-pitying even the mc had to comment on it like bruh can you stop thinking about yourself and this chip on your shoulder for one fuckin second????
And the cherry on top is that the MC was fully cognizant of just how fucked up this all was (for a recap: MC got forcefully transitioned into an omega, he was chained up and locked up in some cabin in the middle of nowhere, he was repeatedly raped and assaulted by this fuckface, and the scumbag also made his pair break it off with his loving boyfriend and made him go into a coma bc of how unsupportive he was) and was like "You silly goose!!! All you had to do was tell me! I'll always love you, now let's go skip off into the sunset" like bro hwhat?!?!?
Ok so this is why i think the author made maythan warm up to the lil villain prince real fast.
Maythan's actually running on whatever knowledge he has from the game he played the second half of. He knows he's a "bad guy" in the story and tries everything to distance himself from the main characters so he can avoid his fate. To top it all off, all the male leads not only wanna hang out with him, they wanna bang him!!! He probs decided to hang out with Ian coz a) anyone who calls you 'bro' obviously does NOT wanna bang you, so that's nice, and b) Ian probably was a shadow figure in the game so Maythan doesn't know that this guy is the worst of the bunch.
i fear that most people don't understand as well as this. most of the time when people are unaware of certain events, (which in fact, we are never aware of what will truly happen in the future) we assume the best for people instead of always being on edge, which Maythan has been for the past 5 years of that world. thank you for having such an open-minded view! ヾ(☆▽☆)
