Selected for the backgrounds, upon close inspection i think it’s rendered from 3d models but I like how they added ambience lighting and changed the color scheme ( filter maybe?) to alter the mood for the panels, it blends in really naturally and shows the artist knows their color theory pretty well. The character designs are a bit bland compared to the backgrounds tho, the coloring and shading is simple.
