why do i literally bawl my eyes out everytime huanwen and yuan appear. SERIOUSLY I LOVE THEM SO MUCH </3 (i think this side couple is really beautiful, in all honesty i think it has A LOT to do with huanwen and how he’s an extremely relatable character to i’m sure most of us. seriously, that chapter of him in the cafe with that lesbian woman really made me cry because huanwen’s, not only story, but his character as well is quite realistic that it just tugs at your heartstrings and makes you wanna cheer him on. the chapter where they show yuan being huanwens comfort made me extremely happy because, seriously, he needs him. this couple probably has one of the best written stories, and not only that, the characters themselves are so well written too. this is truly one of the only stories where they actually make the side couple enjoyable and like they’re actually there for a GOOD reason and not just irrelevant plot fillers)

I think he cares to a degree but can't bring himself to be attached because they're mortal. Yibin is traumatised and doesn't want to be hurt by someone he cares for dying again so he just cant care anymore
