I was gonna drop this at first because of the violence but I'm glad I kept reading.
It was a beautiful and poetic story. It kept my interest till the end and became one of my favorites. Such an emotional ride.
I think the guy in the cabin is not Dai. I think it's Hwahae, the bartender that was in love with Dai. He was his friend and even asked Dai to go to America with him when Dai was drunk in the bar.
It makes sense that in the cabin he said he had feelings for Dai and was jealous of Jaehee.
I saw a lot of comments about the lack of sex in their relationship. We didn't see it but if you look closely you'll see that it was implied many times that they had sex.
The ending was very cryptic but I like to think that they reunited in America and both Dai and Jaehee were in the pictures that Miss Crangela received.
Edit.
Here's a depressing thought. The guy in the cabin is actually Dai. But he's terminally ill, that's why he's almost unrecognizable. He just wanted to see Jaehee one last time. Because he doesn't want Jaehee to deal with his death, he sends him in an impossible journey to find him. That way Jaehee will always live with that hope in his heart. He thinks one day he will find Dai. But Dai actually dies alone in the cabin.
I hate myself for thinking of this possibility. So I'm gonna choose to believe that they reunited in America and got the happiness they both deserved.
As a fan of Banana Fish I screamed when Sing Soo Ling first appeared.
If I'm not mistaken Sing is 33 years old and he's married to Akira.
We also get to know what happened to Yut Lung. I love how Sing refers to him as his brother.
And when Sing says that he once knew an Adonis who was also a genius, we all know he's talking about Ash and our hearts break.
Just stopping by to say that I miss Yashiro and Doumeki.
