Can we think for a moment about the fact that Nakyum dreamed of Seungho making love to him, not just fucking him. MAKING LOVE
This is such a good point. The tone was very different from Nakyum’s previous fantasies about Seungho. It was fap material before, but Nakyum just woke up and went about his day after the dream. Interesting that he had an emotional response to the fantasy instead of a physical one.
I thought that if Season 1 was about Seungho falling for Nakyum, then Season 2 would be about Nakyum falling for Seungho, and it seems that prediction is coming true.
We've already seen Nakyum soften toward Seungho considerably. He's not running away anymore, though that's mostly out of self-interest as he doesn't have anywhere to go. Since Season 2 started, Nakyum has really committed himself to being the best prostitute he could be for Seungho (eating more, painting, generally being docile), though that's because Nakyum is viewing their relationship as being transactional. Recently, he expressed disappointment that Seungho wasn't paying as much attention to him as before. And of course this dream and caring for Seungho while he's sick requires more tenderness from Nakyum too. He's never seen Seungho vulnerable before and I think he's endeared by it.
Up to this point, the biggest problem is that Seungho doesn't behave in ways Nakyum recognizes as love. All the servants and nobles can tell Seungho likes Nakyum because of all the things Seungho does for him, but Nakyum doesn't see it that way or believe it. I hope he will interpret Seungho's actions differently now, but I don't think Nakyum will fully believe Seungho until Seungho says the actual words. And that probably won't be for a while because Seungho SUCKS at using his words.
Remember that Raymond is not only looking for revenge, he's also looking for justice. He can't just move on, it's not that simple, he's in a very complicated situation.
And he was very honest with Ian from the beginning. He made it very clear that he was interested in a relationship without attachments. Ian seemed to understand that.
I know... It still hurts.
It would be great if Seungho told Nakyum that he can leave, I mean that he's free. That will be the ultimate act of selflessness. And Nakyum actually leaves but after some time comes back to him.
"If you love someone, set them free. If they come back they're yours; if they don't they never were."
I compared the manhwa to this fairy tale. https://bebebisous33analyses.wordpress.com/2020/10/09/painter-of-the-night-serene-bird-traces-of-beauty-and-the-beast-in-the-manhwas/ If you are interested how simlar the both stories are.
Let's not forget that Raymond is suffering a lot too. He's been waiting his whole life for this moment and thinks he can't go back. We have to understand what he's doing, even though it hurts.
I just hope he gets a chance to talk to Ian and be honest with him, he deserves an explanation. Poor Ian, he's gonna be crushed either way.
If you want to know what's happening, always check Kim's reactions, he always knows what's up.
