The complete lack of empathy the MC is demonstrating makes him less likeable. How does he not have any empathy for someone who just woke up after losing their memory for 2 months? How can he not have any empathy for someone being told they lived this whole life, this whole relationship, this whole love for 2 months that they don't remember?
He is giving this esper absolutely no grace. Not that the esper is handling it in the most graceful way, he's being a total jerk, but he probably be handling it better if he was given some grace.
That's pretty fair. I don't think it excuses Kwonwoo's behaviour though. Kwonwoo should have some empathy for the MC. It is clearly shown to Kwonwoo that in those two months MC and ML fostered a close relationship (MC even cried in front of him) yet ML seems to not care at all, no wonder MC emotions are all over the place. ML has not even bothered asking what happened during those 2 months, and MC has not bothered to explain either.
If we had a bit more communication they wouldn't have to walk on tiptoes around each other and maybe they could relearn to love each other.
There can be two assholes in a situation together. There's this obsession in this website's comment section with identifying a victim and a villain in every single situation. It's weird. Sometimes there's just to assholes that are both being complete assholes to each other.
The MC has not once stopped and thought about the esper. We see his thoughts so we know that he has never once considered how the esper must feel. He only cares about himself. He has only considered his own feelings and no one else. He hasn't once tried to think about what this must be like for the esper or do anything that would lessen the trauma the esper is going through.
Meanwhile, the expert is acting like someone who just went through trauma. His emotions are unstable and he's lashing out for no reason. This isn't good behavior. But you can also see that he's trying. He's trying to reach out to the MC, He's trying to be kind to the MC. The fact that you think he should drop everything and act like he hasn't been traumatized shows you're also not thinking about this from his point of view. Just because somebody starts crying in front of you doesn't mean you have to get rid of all of your personal boundaries to care for them.
I think in this situation one of them is worse than the other and it's the one who isn't trying.
I think we also need to remember that ml is cold to mc even before the memory lost but mc is also not considering that ml feelings of waking up 2 months and being told that he has a close relationship with some who he keep at an arms length for years they have in in a business guide-esper relationship for so long then just suddenly being in a close relationship but I kinda understand mc because his afraid ml won't remember everything that happened he already gave up on ml he just thinks that ml is back to the emotionless feared esper (just my opinion)
You cannot waffle back and forth between partners like this. If you're not sure do nothing.
Also how are you not sure? One guy is a little weird and a little shady but has never been unkind to you and the other one is a vicious rapist. I know which one I pick out of the two.
