I don't understand why authors think it's gonna come across as funny to readers when someone genuinely kind gets treated like dirt as if we don't have experiences with kind teachers being disrespected by students or having friends who get flak for majority of their life lmao... It's not a joke. I don't find this funny at all. I'm dropping this, call me a snowflake or whatever, but it pisses me off when authors need to take a piss at a character for no reason at all to be funny. Lacking in genuine talent to create something naturally amusing.
