because its somewhat lazy storytelling. instead of finding a way for the mc to brings something new to the table or find something unique and genuinely change the story line they just place mc on ogmcs story and call it a day. its so irritating
MY EXACT THOUGHT it’s so lazyyy i was going to comment that but i thought that i might be over reacting. But it felt like they were telling the original story but just inserted this mc and took og’s place. Also the whole “I don’t wanna get too involved and live quietly” is so stupid because he does stuff that’s obviously going to make him stand out.
