The writing was bad....like you know he invited her foster parents so he could make a show out of it...but like I find that really dumb. Like he could've just reported them to social services and used his connections to destroy their lives... and the fact that they make her out to be this pure person and throw that twist at the end just seems like....unnecessary. Not every girl needs to be pure to be worth it yknow. Like if get her purity is a plot device yo prove her innocence but if he had just dug a little more he would've found out.

Why do characters always wanna tell the main couple that they're not "good" for eachother or whatever just because one of them is popular. I get that if it was a friend or someone close to the couple and they saw that it was really toxic or something then yeah. But most of them are just jealous and selfish and as a plot device I'm tired of it, like it's an overused trope. Mangas, especially shoujo manga makes it a main point to focus on cheesy overused tropes for laughs and shit but it's honestly tiring as a reader to read 10 mangas and they all be the same.

I think it's partly a cultural difference... (considering where it's written, y'know). Somethings are exaggerated, but somethings are also half-truths.
The reality is, "social image" is a big deal in many Asian countries... and self-esteem is a bit more social-relationship-dependant...than it is say in north america.
For example, students in Japanese classrooms rarely raise their hands up because they fear giving the wrong answer or looking stupid. Things like a whole class laughing at you for your mistakes is also very real. (just to give an example)
I absolutely ADORE Bokuto. So this recent chapter is making me tear up. My Favorite Ace is all grown up now, his confidence is not shaken during rough matches and he strives to hit the ball no matter what!!
