id commit crimes for this to be more than just a oneshot i love butches so much
not sure what happened here but i reallyyy enjoyed the beginning but as they met the story started to feel rushed and a bit confusing at times. the misunderstanding got resolved weirdly quickly, i was hoping for it to be more slow burn-y like the start of the story. nevertheless i still liked this, especially bcz of the mcs, but it had all the potential to be More
idc how messy the story got at some points, i loveee the characters and i was rooting for both of the semes (i kinda wish they ended up poly but it's okay, im still, to my surprise, satisfied with the ending)
this ended way too quickly omfg i need more of them
the whole time i was so scared that the uke would cut his hair thank god it didnt happen
i will never stop mourning this... such a promising bl, i cant even imagine how good it couldve been
a lot of comments are saying "the she is a he" and stuff like that but personally i think that's like very obviously a transfem character. especially considering the author has recognised lgbt identities before (touched the topic of biphobia, struggles regarding figuring out identity, trust involving that on minatos part etc) which honestly isnt that often seen in yaoi/bl media - and if so, its not usually done properly (unlike here) not to mention my dear drag queens that play a very important part in the story and arent there just as a joke
adding on since i hit character limit lol. if the boss turns out to just be a man thats fine too but i just wanna appreciate meguru hinohara as an author that i feel like i can trust with topics like this
ohhhhhh i didn’t even think about the director being transfem but now that you bring it up…… yeah, i can really see it as a possibility. after going through therapy game i also really trust meguru hinohara and how seriously she clearly takes lgbt+ identities and depictions (things like the biphobia addressing you mentioned w/ touching on the common ‘bi man will leave you for a woman’ misconception with Shizuma… his research books & his coworker saying she wanted to research this herself when he came out… and as you also mentioned, the drag queens!! they’re very rarely treated with respect in these kinds of stories, so seeing Mama & her employees be treated as such important parts of the ensemble cast is really, really nice.) if the director is ultimately a crossdressing man, i still trust it to be handled with grace so it’s fine…. but yeah i can really see the director being trans & i rly hope that is ultimately the case bc with an author so currently respectful of different identities at the pen i think it would be really good to see / well handled.
yes yes exactly u get it! its so refreshing to see someone actually handle tropes like this with so much care and respect (because, lets be honest, as much as i like BL its not really great representation most times)
also, not sure how far into restart series youre in so slight spoiler warning but i believe the director is trans from the way she cares about their hair so much. as a trans person myself ive seen this with real life transfems so itd make much sense imo!! also the chapters with an animal afraid of men - trusting the director until looking closer into their eyes and getting scared... i really hope we'll get more on that soon
