everyone online was hyping this manhwa up, so i was like 'yeah, i'll check it out' and i love the art but i'm kinda confused ? like everyone on like tt and everywhere kept saying ' oh skylarxcirrus is so cute!' like they're this amazing couple, and while they do have chemistry, ... tbh they're kinda toxic? AND I'VE TRIED SO HARD TO LIKE GET PAST THAT like, in my opinion, cirrus keeps like gaslighting and manipulating skylar
yeah, i understand your point and i feel like many fans have been sugarcoating their toxicity overall. at the end of the day, this IS a psychological manhwa and not just about their romance so it's supposed to be this flawed. i'm glad that you picked it up tho and you should really stick to this even tho every new chapter makes me wanna kms
Well, Cirrus only knows how to manipulate and gaslight. From the start we saw how he faked his "good-guy" mask. I'm not sure how their relationship will evolve, it could end good, with Skylar and Cirrus healing their past traumas. Both of them had an extremely wrong way of coping, so I hope that together they may heal and end up in the "healing" trope.
But... even if it ends "bad", I wouldn't complain. The story is extremely complex and slow, leaving with many questions (especially because we have to wait a week or more for more informations). We got Cirrus backstory and trauma after chapter 90!
Both of them have their flaws, and that's what I like of this story. They're more "human"(?), they feel more real, as no one is perfect in real life. Their characters are built really good, and they manage to be annoying even as a protagonist.
I'm not excusing Cirrus for anything he did, he acted bad almost evil, he is a bit of an as****e, but from the first chapters he came a long way... even though he still have fits of rage sometimes- ( ̄へ ̄)
Well- sorry for the long comment haha^^"
i mean if we’re talking just recently, he went into his phone to delete chan-il’s message and lied to him about it, continuously tried to push him to act like a couple in public despite him saying no many times, yelled in the hallway where anyone can hear about their relationship and said shit like “chan-il approached you out of pity, he thinks you’re a loser”, and so much more
now this isn’t to say skylar’s perfect, he’s 100% not, but cirrus has done a lot of fucked up shit to him in their relationship so far. i mean the beginning of their friendship started w cirrus blackmailing skylar w the photos he had. but they’re both very interesting and enjoyable characters
I meant the part where they explain what happened to him with the teacher. I didn't know that the author said that, so it's good a good news to me.
The way I see this story... the storyline is pretty simple, but the characters are very complex. Cirrus has many different issues, one is being a manipulator, because he's scared of losing Skylar. He deleted some messages he received, or he's extremely jealous almost possessive when Skylar is with that orange boy (I can't remember his name)
You can't deny that both of them have some problems that add toxicity to their relationship.
Thank you for telling me what the author confirmed, I was scared it may end badly between them.
I don’t see it as “toxicity” though. The author already explained that she wanted to make 3D characters bc u also said I quote they are “complex” characters and that’s exactly bc they aren’t your stereotypical BL characters they feel more human! We ad humans aren’t divided in green or red flag that’s an absurdity. Each one of us has some “red” features and “green” being mixed together that’s what makes us US. And this is what Paskim wanted to make her characters Cirrus and Skylar feel like too.
Your comment made me realize exactly what isn't working for me! This is more about the psychological part and not so much about their romance (even though they have some interesting couple development). I guess I was focusing on the wrong aspect that the author was trying to convey, which was why I wasn't enjoying it that much. Thanks for your analysis ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Yeah, that was what I was trying to explain! They have flaws, and are "complex". But still, in some way, the possessiveness of Cyrrus can be seen toxic, or at least I see it in that way. I'm not saying it's a bad thing (unless it evolves in violence); I just would like to see also how they both try to heal their traumas for the other's sake, yk?
Cyrrus suffered an enormous pain after what happened with his parents, especially that bitc-y father, and he probably won't ever heal completely.
I didn't want to divide them in red and green flags, I'm just such a lover for the "healing trope" hahaha.
I read only a few manhwas with such great characters "builds", so I guess I'm still going in the different stereotypes
This is all to say, that we're on the same page lmao, I'm thinking the same, just... I'm not good at wording it
i mean, i get that their complex but, if you think abt it, their supposed to be complex, everyone is, while i don't think cirrus is toxic, some of his actions have been. like him deleting the mssgs from chan-il, like, and i get his jealousy and the complexity behind it. in a real relationship tho, that wouldn't have been right. I get what you're saying tho!
why tf can't ppl communicate??? i never understood this shit, like girl js say it tbh it's more embarassing if you DON'T say it
