Their relationship started wrong, but now they are having a good development. Tengoku is manipulative and selfish asshole but in the end he seems like a spoiled kid who was acting tough to hide his pain, because he is in pain he became sensitive to others pain and tried to help them in his own way(though his ways are wrong). I hated him at first, but now he is kind of not bad. He is just a kid and aoki helped mature up a bit (he deserved that slap lol) aoki says what on his mind and says what needed to be said so I don’t worry about him anymore. I don’t think tengoku can or need to be manipulative around aoki anymore because they know and understand each other so there’s no need to put a front anymore.
Just an opinion, aoki needed tengoku to force him out of his shell (or he needed to go to therapy but they don’t do that in Japan or manga I don’t know) what tengoku did is mostly bad but there was a good side too.
