No it didn‘t pop out. It’s just the art that shows that something is wrong with the core. Like drawing it singled out, floating in the air to emphasize it or something. I can see why you thought that though

my guess is that latrasil died before in her past, prolly from drowning (a classic) and guesta being the fox mask is able to choose the lord and revived latrasil, turning her into the lord. the things that guesta had to sacrifice mightve been his innocence or humanity.
