The Tyrant's Only Perfumer
I think it’s one of those stories where I have to put five stars because I really was entertained all along. I liked Ariel’s character and I also liked the whole perfume idea, especially the fact we got details about it and so on. The fact she transmigrated here and realized an old dream of hers makes the story quite touching as well. The pace of the story also makes it good, I never really got bored or frustrated with how things were going. I also liked the design of the ML, like the way he’s presented as cold and intimidating at first but how he just ends up being a sucker for Ariel, even if he doesn’t realize it lmao. The second love interest sticks to the story despite being rejected and stays useful with his own story, becoming real friend to Ariel, which I found really appreciable. Maybe the villain plot took some time to happen and was resolved rather quickly, in one stride (the big villain I mean) but I was never disturbed by that fact. Overall the main couple was sweet, definitely a story to read (and to reread, for me)!
I Became the Lousy Side Top
The story was good, even if it honestly didn’t took the road I thought it would! Digging the debt and mafia aspect in contrast to how peaceful their life was when they were together with the kids at home, just cooking and enjoying themselves felt wow. Like sometimes the situation just kept piling up and it felt pretty deep in despair! I often felt like the story was so cute but also I wanted it to continue but didn’t find any solution for it to happen. Whenever there was a solution, you just knew that it was temporary. I’m glad the mess with how did you get in that book was addressed, and that it was a real world after all. Even if I couldn’t help be like fr guy if you’re migrating into a new world, take clothes and money with you! If you move to another country, wouldn’t you do that? Don’t go there almost empty ended what I liked the couple, they were cute together, even if honestly a mess in terms of communication (on both side). Jaewoo’s character sometimes annoyed me a little for the way he was making decisions but I also always felt like they could be excused by the situation unfolding. In general I liked his character that I found funny and relatable, all the good recipes got me damn hungry!
I didn’t like Mujin. Maybe it’s just me, but his character was bad (which is normal given the plot) and even if his tsuntsun attitude was sometimes cute or likable, he was such a hindrance to the main relationship, trying to solve things by violence, to force himself on Jaewoo and to prey on them when they were in a vulnerable situation. It’s hard to like a character like that, at least for me it is. In the end he gets better, with the grief that also made him reflect on himself, but f hell bro, sexual harassment and trying to claim someone yours when they are in love with someone else is definitely NOT the way to make them fall for you lol.
Overall, I was waiting for this story to be complete to read it and although I took a bit of an involuntary break before finishing it, I had no trouble reading through it at all. It was honestly enjoyable, and I was glad to find some isekai ish modern world kind of plot, especially with the BL mark.
Éminence Grise Female Lead Is Trying to Make Me Her Stepmom
Happy Ending for the Time-Limited Villainess
So I dropped this and I came back for it now. I had a hard time with it last time and I can’t say it was super easy this time either. There are a few things that makes that I don’t stick to that story, I don’t really know why. I think the pace may be a bit too slow for me, so from time to time I skimmed through pages of chapters instead of focusing totally on it. On the other hand, it is a good plot. I like the direction it takes and I like how it’s handled, even if some mysteries took extra long to be revealed (like Pahn’s upbringing really took soooooo long.) also I think I would have preferred for the plot to be more foreshadowed (like who is the culprit etc) it feels like Sungah gets a bit of Clea’s memories back very late. It was sometimes frustrating to see how helpless she could be in some situation, even if it also helped to grasp her character. Overall the plot reminded of another (being back in a “villainess” body and having a limited time, being weak etc) but it was handled quite differently. I like how there were several layers to it.
I’m not the most fond of the relationship between Sungah and her husband. Tbh, it wasn’t really healthy, and maybe it’s supposed to appeal to me as it is (omg he was dark and he’s on his best behavior for her but he can also be very dark about her) but I don’t like his hyper possessiveness. There’s a thin line between loving someone and treating them like an object, wanting to control their every moves. It landed too many times on that side for me, even at the end when he was happy he had her “trapped in a cage.” Even if Sungah stood against it several times, it still felt like he was getting what he wanted. And I get that he likes her, it’s the first time he feels like this, she’s special etc, but you can love someone and also trust them. So yeah it did irk me a little, maybe I’m the only one. They also lacked communication. And also sacrificing 100 people… mmh…
That ending was so not necessary tho it was painful to see after their deaths. Why would you do this to us author?
Last note : I know magic is made as something that exists in that universe but I was still surprised at how Marquess Salami (seriously that name I had a hard time visualizing it seriously) / Salme could literally see people’s life expectancy? And it wasn’t really explained? It sounded like something quite special though.
A Villain Is A Good Match For A Tyrant
Okay so I put this aside and dropped it after a few chapters some time ago because I wasn’t in the mood, I’m glad I came back for it. The drawing became even greater through the fic, which was lovely, but the plot is also super interesting, I was hooked. There are some really nice intrigue and some really nice relationships with side characters and relationships that were perfect as well. The reincarnation plot actually happened and not in the way I thought it’d be but also in that way? In other words, an amazing webtoon.
