I read here some time ago a comment saying that the manhwa gives us a lot more of Bjorn's perspective and that humanizes him, and I kept thinking about as I was reading the last chapters. I tried reading the novel a while ago as I wanted to se Bjorn grovel, but couldn't finish it as I was annoyed at how fast Erna was giving in to him while rationalizing it, while I would've liked her to rather play the madwoman and say no. Anyway, somehow, I hate this Bjorn even more. I think the fact that I was only seeing him from Erna's perspective in the novel was helping, not being in his mond allowed me to wonder what his excuses were, and imagine them for myself, even when I was still imagining sociopathic excuses. Now, seeing his mindset a lot more (personally I don't think it's that much more than in the novel) he just seems more shitty, but thinking of the difference helps me empathize with Erna more. It's a lot easier to make excuses yourself for someone else than to accept their excuses.

these plot points were written by a 14yo and the story was goven then to adults to expand and put into writing and paper without being allowed to change the plot points in any way to make sense, and I will die on that hill.

Someone please give me a breakdown of the plot so far, how does the fall in love actually happen? I gave up on this around chapter 15 or something, but I enjoy coming here every time there's an update to look at the comments and really, they never disappoint, but until 2 chapters I was under the impression they were still uninvolved emotionally, just physically

I followed people's advice and read the novel and honestly, it starts really nice, but descends into such pushover territory I literally had to take breaks to calm my anger.

it did start from the almost rape scene, until them the uke just seemed like a kid (even tho he's supposed to be an adult, but his inability to speak for himself literary got him into an almost rape situation. and yes, I know, it's victim blaming, but I swear I didn't kno what the scene was leading to, I really didn't predict the rape attempt, and still I was like, wtf, why aren't you speaking, why aren't you just saying "nah,I don't want to be a royal knight" if you're so disgusted by their gold digging asses, why not open your mouth and actually speak you fool, you don't have to be rude about it of you're afraid of them, just say no while you're still surrounded by people, don't fucking follow them alone to a far away exclusive hotel just to say those 9 words!! what's happening??? and then U realized what was happening, it was the plot leading to a almost rape scene....

don't get me wrong, I'm happy he managed to get himself out of there, it was a badass scene of a kid (adult in a kid body but he's not really adult like) managing to outrun a knight capitan.

AND THEN, my most hated trope, yay. Sooo, I despise with passion the trope of having sex (no penetration, but still) in order to "override" the almost rape that left some marks on him. but that's where they're going. cuz he was fed a funky tea that makes you hard, you see.
You know, as someone who's been in those kind of situations, what you need is to feel safe afterwards, so I did got the whole embrace him so hard he is completely enveloped, but these guys were not even settled on whether they're together. they hadn't had sex, barely touched a bit in a sleepy daze before, and in a moment like this you het al hot and heavy???? I felt dirty, like i was supposed to get excited reading this. Maybe if they were a long lived couple it would've worked, but to me at least, it didn't at that point. it felt like a twisted math was at play, where rape is equivalent to almost dying so taken seriously but almost rape is fine, nothing happened. maybe after that I just started to see the novel differently, but yeah

i actually don't have anything against the blondie hero-kun, he's an actual child here and aside from being extra horny for the uke nothing much os that wrong about him

anyway, later, a knight comes to tell uke that all that happened because basically his own father human trafficked him to the rapey knight and his father is bawling his eyes out at the uke saying sorry never gonna do it again, and in the same convo the uke os like, you're gonna repent so it's fine, i forgive you, which pissed me off again, and the knight is like wow, extra impressive how noble and forgiving you are for the father WHO TRIED TO SELL YOU INTO SEX SLAVERY, I was gonna punish him but since you forgave him (and also since i need to ask you to keep quiet about this) i guess he's free to go.
and I expected at least for uke to use the father guilt to get stuff from father but no, still never opens his mouth to oppose him. I guess he gets out of a christmas family party with that guilt payment but it's so not enough, just another excuse to get a bit frisky with hero-kun.

what got me writing this is the latest chapter i got to. I admit, I'm still reading the novel, but I'm I thing at the last time skip when reading this, they're days away from the invasion of the city.

Honestly the novel was so frustrating, the longer the uke lives on that world the more of a pushover he becomes. like, I'm sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but just thinking things in your head and never saying them out loud and instead just starting and not saying anything for yourself doesn't make you cool, it makes you lame, and the uke seems like such a pushover. his motherly traits are consistently empathized, he's oh so kind and likes to take care of others and oh so cute, just the perfect stereotypes of the japanese wife who stays quiet and never says anything bad especially in public (you know that these cultural expectation are why the stereotype that a japanese wife will poison you in your sleep has appeared, right?) and is so pretty and so beautiful.

but in this last chapter i read his feminisation was so over the top, damn. so he goes to his grandpa's ball and brings his own clothes with him, but there are maids in his room saying the master has prepared an attire for him, and it's basically a princess dress competed with a jewelry set and hair accessories and guess what, he just stays quiet and cries on the inside, not once attempted to order the maids who are, you know, maids not noblewomen, not kick them out, not use his rights as the frickin grandson of the lord to say no, not attempt to dress himself, not anything. it's left for the hero-kun to come and save him, I swear I hated it so much


and and and, wanna guess how that ends? hero says he looks pretty, brother says he looks pretty like a fairy, grandpa calls him a cute little bird and everyone ignores how uncomfortable he is cuz it suits him, and so ge goes on. what. the fuck.

if i wanted to read a straight romance I would've read a straight romance, now I have to pretend it's fine that everyone treats this 19yo boy as a girl cuz he's pretty WHEN HE DOESN'T WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE THAT, and he goes along with it cuz he's a pushover

anyway this os where i left my reading, might update, might continue, who knows, but probably not gonna read the manga because the manga is hella rushed compared to the novel. it's like 5 novel chapters per one of manga

My standards for isekai are generally low, I'm usually willing to read anything, but this still didn't reach them. Couldn't fet through 5 chapters of the novel. To summarize it - love story between a doormat and a pedofile. Honestly, good for them, let them keept each other and stay away form actual good people.

So the uke was an edgy emo overly panicked 13yo child the first time he got isekai-ed and was powerless (unlike other isekai-ed people) but kept quiet about being powerless because he was a child alone in a different world and ofcourse he was scared. the seme knight fell for him and kept ogling him but didn't touch him, instead he told (as all adults do, you know) to the scared child that he hates him and walked away, but the child dissapeared and when he shows up again all grown up he's not like "where the fuck were you are you ok???" no, he's all "i love you, you're so stupid and cute, let's be an item" cause why the fuck not.

on his side, the uke, after being told by his supposed bodyguard (woth whom he was on love with for reasons that the knight was handsome) that he is hated by everyone, bodyguard especially, got actually MURDERED. murdered. literally. attacked from behind and stabbed to death, but instead of dying he returned to his world and apparently for the last 15 years he belived the knight was the one that killed him. but nevertheless he was still crushing on the knight his whole adult life like the pushover he is and when they reunite he really os the most doormat idiot possible, giving away who he is immediately yet not realising all the clues the knight gave him telling him that HE FUCKING KNOWS WHO HE IS. i guess even the knight gives up on trying to lead this idiot to the answer and just tells him he knows he is the same person, and tells him he's been in love with him since he was a 13yo and has been looking for him all this time ( 4 years in fantasy world, years in which he not only looked all over for the uke, but also upgraded his rank by 100 because who cares if it makes sense, we need the seme to be a super extra ultra badass boss).

anyway, uke tells him that back then he got killed and thought the seme was the one who did it and you know what the seme tells him? spoiler, I already said it earlier. he actually goes "i wasn't me, i love you, had it been me I would've killed myself too after, now let's be together". where is the "what the fuck, you were killed?" part. WHEREEEE?

anyway that's where I stopped reading because i am way too old and have read way to many actual good stories to actually enjoy this stupidity. who knows, maybe the manga will be better, but I doubt I'll return. enjoy the future sex scenes I guess, hope some people will have fun

sooo, I've disliked the ml from the start. first of all, who starts undressing, pants included, when they think their friend in in the bed??? really now. for a couple of pages I really belived the brother was gonna turn out to be gay, and for those few seconds I entertained the idea of liking the first prince. but no, he's just a creed with no respect for his saviors.
but aside from that, he kept getting into fl's space, coming waay too close to her face and being all touchy-feely with her, and whenever she asked him to stop, and she did that, a lot, he just kept telling her stuff like "wdym I'm too close, that's how close people always are, you're mistaken" or changing the subject, and I WAS GASLIGHTED IN HER PLACE. fuck, I just kept imagining her clawing his face up and saying "that's how people caress each other, wdym it hurts?"

she's not even showing any sigh of interest in you, just give up and look for someone your actual age you freak
and the way he kept forcing the brother's hand to stay close to the sister even though he kept saying he wants them apart, all while calling himself the brother's friend

and the way he treated the prime minister, hurting and threatening him in his friend's house - maybe it's because I was already so freakishly annoyed by him, but I just couldn't find it funny.

anyway, then he got the throne back and became a villain and I'm giving this 2, I'm only willing to change it if she ends up alone at the end of the story

Well, the second part was hella underwhelming..
not gonna re-read it, but i guess it was nice for what it was. more on the charming side than the good story or good characters side.
Also I hated the gods, fuck them, redhead especially, fucking creep, i definitely can't understand what was the whole point in sealing the gods if you can just bring a pure soul into that world and boom they're all in love with her and there's peace on earth. And by gods and men, can you fuck up a story's climax more than that? i literally forgot the villain hasn't been defeated yet at some point, everything just kept going from cutsey scene to sex scene to cutsey scene again, to the point tjat i was bored of seeing them together by the time of the epilogue.
I also can't stand the blondie emperor, little bitch should've gotten the forever alone on the throne route.
Aaaand in the end we wrapped up every single character's storyline with a pretty pink bow and they are now GOD EMPERORS THAT WILL SAVE THE WORLD.
