Spoilers….
Ml/prosecutor ends up going to jail for various misdeeds, including those parties and corruption and it’s the MC who put them there. He turns him in to the lead prosecutor after he uncovers a true piece of shit he really is. However, the male lead only spends about one year in jail because the MC ends up getting him out. He gives up info for a bigger fish to the lead prosecutor in exchange for a lesser sentence for the ML. In the end They do end up together, but he does end up paying for his crimes in someway.
