?? Bye I’m so sorry I don’t get this story at all..

So basically (from what I understand of the whole story) Lucifer made a bet with god on a boy and he chose Lucifer since he loved(?) him and Lucifer visits him on every birthday he has till he turns 19 which is when he makes a deal with the boy and when the boy says all he wants is to give his sould to Lucifer so he can stay with him forever, god tries to take his soul or smthng?? And then Lucifer starts saying some bullshit to make him believe in so he won’t give his soul to the heavens and in the end, he rejects the heavens and believes Lucifer’s word because all he wants is to be with him but then Lucifer reveals its all a trick and he leaves him never to visit him again his entire lifetime. The end???

Pls correct me if I’m wrong on anything I said cause I’m trying to make this story make sense but there’s so many plot holes.

I dont think ppl understand that the reason the ml acts the way he does and the reason he asked Penelope for something “casual” is because he does love her, he just doesn’t realize it yet. He was raised in a way where he doesn’t know what love actually is and since this feeling is all new to him, he doesn’t know what to do with it so he mistakes it for something else. Once he realizes that he does indeed love her (I haven’t read the novel yet) I’m sure he’ll change but rn, hes still trying to understand himself.
