Does anyone else find the emperor dislikable a bit? He just goes under my skin each time he disregards other peoples feelings for his amusement. I bet from his POV, the world is his oyster and everyone else are just irrelevant dancing monkeys. He’s very adventurous, impulsive and a rule breaker, I’m sure he’d be fun to have as a friend or brother, but as a lover, you’d be strung along with him regardless of your feelings. As if it’s not enough that he has a dominating personality, he’s also the frickin emperor so you can’t say no. Should’ve known the moment he forced the painter to follow him to the palace. The poor guy had to severe his relationship with his stepfather because of him. For an adopted kid, what could be worse? And the emperor acted like it meant nothing.
Man I don’t know why I keep reading this knowing I’ll leave irritated. I’ve already shitted on this manga before so I’m not doing it again but it’s unbelievable how the uke is portrayed as shy and introverted yet has more courage than 98% of the human population. Who just goes up to their crush and ask for a kiss to forget them? That’s just unrealistic and that guy’s ego has grown so big, no trash bin can accommodate him. Just when will the author throw him off the high horse? Never, that’s when. Sorry I’m rating this 1 star.
My god what’s wrong with this pathetic woman? Nobody can force someone to marry due to a will. Set down your foot and say no. What’s hard about that? It’s not like this rich dude can just kidnap her in broad daylight and throw her in front of a priest.
Nobody’s demanding a sassy smart character but this is just super annoying cliche.
I agree
I ended up thinking they always place their stories in complete alternate earths like earth1 and earth2... like they do in Marvel and DC universes to make sense of it cause whether romance, action, horror, etc they tend to make the crime, punishment, and ridiculous treatment and/or situations unbelievable even for the countries they mention so often.
No. They're not respecting the law. They're respecting the power that man still holds over them. The law is secondary. They can't get what they want without following his will just because he holds that much more power than they do. If he were someone weaker than them many rich and wealthy people would try to and do find loopholes in such contracts and do things without fear of reprisal.
So according to this the male lead is weak but yet so far no one has called him as such, only defended him. Really makes one wonder. And you should have read what he DID just do when she didn't comply. Yet you said there's no way he could force her to marry him. She's out on the streets with her kid now. Yet he can't force her? Pffffftttt!
Law is power. The wealthy in this modern world can get away with crimes unjustified because they are in the same circle as those with authority i.e politicians.
But if MC goes to the police and reports it, do you really think the police will just show her the door? Sure, they can afford the best defense lawyers and by using their money they might be able to withdraw the charges against them but as a CEO, his reputation will be tainted, and as a businessman, something as huge as forcing marriage upon a weak powerless woman will have the public hold him in contempt and how will he show his face around?
Nah, the public will always side with the common folks but author is set on taking the damsel in distress route
Reading chapter 19 made me realize how predictable this story is. Although I’m not sure if it’s due to me reading so many BL’s over the years so all the tropes seem to have been tried and done. Is it so hard to create 3 dimensional personality instead of the usual a-hole arrogant ML and hard-working good natured characters?
Where did u read it?
