Yes this has a toxic ml. Yes, it's def not a healthy relationship. Yes, she's gonna end up with the ml regardless. But the way the novel was written made me like it a lot. I just hope the manhwa can do the same.
The ml is obsessed and is a yandere, and for no reason whatsoever. Yes, for no reason whatsoever. No sob story from his past or anything, it was just the way he was. He liked seeing the mc cry cause that was the only emotion he got from her towards him. He liked how she showed her true emotions when she saw him unlike the nobles and other ppl who only saw his status and power. SO he bullied her and made her suffer. He was just and asshole who was less empathetic than normal, and never felt an emotion like love before so he didn't understand wat he was feeling. His character development in the end is pretty satisfying though. Or maybe it was just the way it was written that made it satisfying. He's still obsessed by the end, but well... better lol.
I'm not defending him cause no, he def was not a good person. Even he himself and the 2nd ml said so by the end lol. He didn't even have any problems from childhood or anything to make us feel at least sympathetic towards him. He was just an asshole and a yandere who was VERY possessive of the mc. He was also very sadistic. But he was a good husband and father in the end of the novel, said by the the 2nd ml as well. He doesn't treat her like shit and doesn't make her cry and is happy that she smiles for him now. The 2nd lead syndrome in this hits hard btw. He's sooo much better. But mc only ever saw him as a brother. I'd recommend reading the novel if u can handle or like angst. Cause this is filled with that, and the last chapters after they get together are filled with fluff.
Yandere's like this dude are hot in fiction but pls don't take it as something normal if someone actually behaves the way the ml does irl. Get help or call the cops lmfao.

I wouldn't recommend it if u can't handle angst though. Cause ml is an asshole for most of the frigging novel and causes a lot of pain for the mc at the start. Wouldn't recommend it if u don't want to see another asshole of an ml get a good ending. I was just rlly drawn in once I started reading the novel. The author is rlly good. The writing was rlly rlly good.
Anyways if u like the feeling of suffering while absorbing the good writing totally go for it lol.
Some ppl in the spoiler threads even said mc was a total masochist and I completely agree LMFAO. There was also one person saying that mc prolly liked ml even though there was such a perfect person like 2nd ml beside her, cause she was lonely since childhood, and even though 2nd ml loved her and even told her he loved her, he never acted out on it much. While ml, whilst still being toxic and obsessed would shamelessly show her his desire for her. Which actually made kinda sense.
Anyways, I'm gonna read the manhwa after it's done. I HOPE it can convey wat the novel did cause, the reason y I loved this was cause of the way the author wrote everything. Or else this is just gonna turn into one of those generic toxic ml manhwa's...ml is still an asshole for most of the story, and even if he gets character development it doesn't erase or excuse everything he did before. So don't read it if u don't like that. The art looks so good though ngl. And even if u end up reading it, it's still a fact that ml is horrible until towards the end. I like this for the writing and the setting they were in. Also for the realistic way the line between nobles and commoners were written. The way ml made mc the duchess was pretty realistic too, even everything he did afterwards for mc.

Tbh from spoilers I know the revenge path won't happen but I rlly wanted mc to kill him after leading him on y'know?...
I wanna know wat's gonna happen from now on though. I'm guessing he's trying to follow his beliefs as a former priest. Is he gonna be with him forever just so he won't harm anyone else or is he gonna actually slowly end up getting attached to him. What if they decide to die together after falling in love or something? This is all just theories I'm making, the only spoiler is that there's no revenge.

Imma ask truck-kun to isekai me into this manga so I can start a witch hunt for the father. I don't like how the SA was just glossed over like that. I love this, I love the ending and I love these 2 and the characters. But I hate that the step dad was let off like that without getting wat he deserves. I get that uke just want's to move on and forget, but do it after letting his step dad get wat's coming for him.

I just want them both to be happy damnit. These two faced assholes from his past ain't helping. Just fuck off damnit..

Seme rlly was going too far every time uke told him to stop or said no. He genuinely wanted to stop but seme wouldn't listen, other than the last time. Though it seems the uke gets over it afterwards, but it still wasn't right. It's like everything ALWAYS has to go the way seme want's.
