I know the emperor was also a victim of the empress since he got forced into an unwanted marriage and got taken advantage of while drugged just to get an unwanted child, but that unwanted child did nothing wrong and was innocent. The mc didn't deserve to be neglected and treated like that by him on top of already being abused by his piece of shit of a "mother". I don't know whether he knows what the empress is doing to mc or not but even if he did, he prolly wouldn't care I reckon.
I can understand how desperate he is to take down the empress after all that but he's just taking advantage of another person (ml) the same way empress did to him now.

Now I'm stuck shipping them when they don't even appear that much (￣∇￣"). Whether it was a platonic interest of wanting to be friends or not it was just cute lol.
