I hope this is one of her plans and she'll save him later. Kinda feel like she's trying to make him understand what he did was wrong and also to keep him out of sight of Gus and the church.
But if not, I don't agree with her argument. He's allowed to be cunning and prioritize his life. She's being a hypocrite by pointing how he'll do anything that benefits him and save his life. Yeah duh?! What else is he supposed to do? Be a loyal dog when his homeland was destroyed, he was starved to brink of death while he watch his fellow countrymen kill eachother for food? I know it's morally wrong but why is he not allowed to sell out his own people when they literally would've killed him for a piece of bread? Not to mention he's a child. Like an actual child who's not transmigrated or regressed unlike MC.

I think the mc's point in that argument is that , there is a very high chance that he will do it again if she makes him stay at her side. She thinks that since he will side easily with someone that will benefit him the most, there is a high chance that she would also be in danger given that a) viana is not really powerful and is enemy with the church and b) she is allied with carl hobes (an enemy in the eyes of ash). So if he let him go, there is also that possibility that he will become the weapon of the church like in the novel.
All of it seems reasonable for me especially since he is dangerous. He is a criminal so this course of action is not the worst. But i do hope he doesnt stay in jail forever and gets somewhat like a chara development. I still pitty him nonetheless.
