It's a slow burn awakener/regressor/medieval fantastic/omegaverse/monster breaks setting. Actually, it blends all the possible tropes that could make it the biggest cliché ever, BUT the author takes even single one of them to make a world, a plot and characters so so freaking good. The returnee trope is used from the premise that there is a lot that the MC doesn't know ; when he wakes up he doesn't have a set plan to save the world, he has actually a lot to process/suffers from trauma/has to adapt to the changes from his previous life. The omega verse setting is NOT used to force intimacy but treated as a secondary setting that is not that relevant (which I think adds so much to the genre). So the plot is based around political schemes (I didn't even skipped one), action (the MC is overpowered fr), getting the awakeners integrated in society because they appeared recently. It has more than 600 chapters BUT you'll regret there isn't more.
The plot and the romance are balanced ; maybe a bit more of plot than romance.
So MC is overpowered in terms of pure power, but has a hard time with emotional process haha, but at the same time very reliable and sassy, and is really mature since he lived a previous life. ML is also very mature and the greenest flag out there and that's SO refreshing. The romance is really slow burn, BUT it's because they take the time to open up to each other, let their walls down and such. All of their interactions are enjoyable actually ; and there are spicy scenes that are quite quite spicy. Also, all of the characters (even all the side ones !) get character development
It also has a manhua that you can find here but I strongly recommend the novel because everything is in MC pov ; it's so fun to read because, since he's not in tune with his emotions, as a reader we understand things he doesn't recognize or want to admit. Also, he and ML are also good at playing mind games and it's difficult to translate it in a manhua with mostly external pov. (Also they did the ML way too straightforward, in the novel he really adopts the pace of the MC not to force him).
Okay I just realized how much I wrote (￣∇￣")... Sorry for that...

Work of science-fiction, post-apocalyptic setting, 70-ish chapters. MC is a mushroom that took the apparence of a human to infiltrate one of the last human base and search for his spore that was taken away. ML is the best juge in charge of eliminating all non-human creatures that could infiltrate the base, to protect it. But he's not sure in the case of ML : he is definitely not a human, but is he ?
The romance is more secondary in this one and the plot is quite angsty. MC is the innocent/unscarred/not feeling of the pain and sufferings of humanity type (because he discovers life as a human) but not dumb. ML is on the logical, numb, army side, but surprisingly has a soft spot for MC.
In my opinion the manhua really delivers and adds something more to the atmosphere of the novel, even if some information is hard to understand without the novel.
