You mean the dark horizontal line on one of his eyelids, right? I think I've seen that a few times in different comics. It's supposed to be a double eyelid but for only one eye (instead of the character having two double eyelids, so on each eyelid one of those lines, they only have one double eyelid). If you Google 'one double eyelid' you'll understand what the artist is going for. Might help make it look less distracting for you if you see pictures of actual people with one double eyelid

That story is really good and not too long, with everything a good story need : good art, good story, good characters
