I started reading this manga around the time Michael first was introduced in the Hong Kong arc (over a decade ago), and then I dropped it around the time Sudo was first introduced. Just binged it and WOW is this a fever dream toward the end! This could have ended chapter 87: all enemies are dead or caught, asami realizing and admitting he loved takaba, takaba finally getting respected enough to be allowed to go to such a dangerous environment instead of being treated like a child… then nah, secret agent arc lmaoooo and I agree, everyone looks like a twink now
Frfrfr, my personal mini tragedy is that I find the Finder boring as fuck now. Well, that might be a bit of over exaggeration, but still.
Like the communication and fluff is well deserved, but there's just too much relationshippal (not a word, I know, I made it) fluff, I tire of it.
Also it feels like AY started to treat it like checking off the boxes for all kinds of tropes.
After the tone has been set at the beginning, I really was hoping for the deeper drama, the angst, the complicated, the hot but heavy due to unresolved emotions and emotional constipation sex, and it was that for a hot sec, and then it just turned to action - sex - fluff.
I wanted it to go deeper, like when Asami was consoling Akihito after the policeman stuff.
There's a few fanfics that actually do a better job at continuing character's arcs and plots in general.
Like, I dunno, at risk of getting cursed up and down, I just feel like it's so bland now, and Akihito looks even more like a girl, and Asami just kind of became a same-faced slab of stone.
It's a bit sad to me, is all.
I don’t want to spoil anything here, so all I’ll say is, this couple has been known to role play, where kang specifically stops to ask if yiyoung is okay with the intensity when he’s not sure (from on or off). They are the type to have a safe word and know when it’s actually too far. Because this is a work of FICTION, we get to see yiyoung’s thoughts, and it’s literally he is just not feeling the type of sex kang is giving. Spoiler.

The wording is very purposefully confusing here, and imo, the author is definitely taking some shady liberties in actively choosing the language theyre using, but we find out later yiyoung loved how aggressively jealous the sex was. So I came to read the official translation carefully with that foresight, and see that yiyoung only really refuses because of their “no office sex rule” and is kinda fighting because he doesn’t want to cum too quickly. other than that he is 100 into getting dicked down ¯_(ツ)_/¯ the Korean readers were also icked here and were debating if this was a fantasy or not (it’s not)
I see why without that foresight this is worrying to some, but I think it was on purpose to make you worry, not to give you the ick. Y’all wouldn’t have survived okane ga nai and viewfinder era yaoi; rape in 2000s era bl was a lazy plot device to show a characters obsession with another, and manga/manhua aren’t totally free of that trope yet…..
But some fans actually find yiyoung icky is not just bcuz of his kinks, but him bragging to his bf that he received a number from a different guy who hits on you, casually hangs with that person then not telling about it to his actual bf is one of the worse thing you could do. He could potentially cheat on director kang.
I would only encourage those fans to go reread on or off and this story carefully without skipping thought bubbles? Yiyoung literally explains why he’s doing it in his thoughts and it is never “I want to cheat on kang” or anything like it. It’s just like “see I can get a hot guys number too” or “I need to be nice to doyeon so he doesn’t stop investing in my boyfriends company/friends”
It’s going a bit differently than the novel!

.Edith being beaten to being nearly unrecognizable was significant, after she escaped and was found by the duke’s men, it’s what proved her innocence in front of killian, and it was never questioned whether or not her being beaten would help prove her innocence, so I wonder how it will all go here since it seems like she is foreshadowing that it won’t save her in this version of the story, plus she wasn’t even beaten as badly here.
Ok so terroid does love astina, but it’s fair if he is emotionally drained. Astina is now just realizing that despite her own trauma, she has been selfish and not done much to heal herself from her own trauma internally rather than getting external help from terroid, on top of everything else he’s been giving her. The only thing about this story that worries me now is if this is “actually only the beginning.” And now Tina genuinely has to win over terroid whereas before they were together out of comfort and convenience
I can tell people hate Leo but he’s so sheltered and such he doesn’t know how to treat people right. It’s not that he’s actively treating them bad, he just doesn’t see that he’s not treating JJ well, ut it’s clear as day to me that he loves him and just assumed he never had to say it. On the other hand it’s obvious JJ is just insecure and too quite to say anything. This is such good drama, they both have so much growing to do and I’m here for it. I thought they were gonna tease Leo in an accident/ almost dying way later, but maybe next time it’ll be way more serious
