Monochrome Rumor
93 Pacing is sometimes wonky. One thing happened but they never expand on it or show the reaction of other members, the next chapter following the incomplete situation shows a totally different scene. There’s almost no progress, they’re just playing around as idols and interacting with each other in random scenes. It’s nice to have fluff but when you go so long without substance, it makes it a very forgettable story. By progress I mean Daejun, Sihyeon’s memories, Hajin’s memories and family, relationship with the other idols, the blond haired guy from Flow, the actor Isu, heck, even minor development like fans gradually liking Sihyeon. It feels like it’s either all hate or all love with him. Like when the fans accused Sihyeon of “pushing” the fan, nothing was said to counter that? But nvm that’s a small point.
Ch71, MC clearly cut his hand, but only his knee was bandaged and no mention of the cut anywhere. Ch72 was a confusing transition, is it a flashback after their convo? Or is it the events following it? Seems like a flashback because “debut” was mentioned but Sihyeon acted like our current MC when they haven’t switched souls yet, this was the same in ch80 with rajun’s flashback. Story should have developed Sihyeon’s personality more, it just seems like Sihyeon and Hajin have the same personality. And then at the end of 72, that ominous final panel of sihyeon looking at his phone. However, ch73 is back to another random scene. I dont get it.
Ch82, mc literally made finger hearts before guided by pinky in ch54 wdym he’s clueless.
Early chapters showed the gradual realisation from Daejun that Sihyeon is MC, especially the drinking part and the doctor part. But they just skip to the next idol scenario. I think author missed out on many of the novel’s scenes, making them incomplete. Little to none development on Sihyeon’s past and Hajin remembering, no proper development between Hajin and Daejun, he didn’t even appear for dozens of chapters despite being an impt character. Sometimes his appearance are just random with no purpose. Hajin was drunk and called Daejun, but nothing happened. MC had a missed call from him but never called back Daejun.
I also wish MC’s personality development was more subtle and gradual. I find some of his reactions presented doesn’t feel like the Hajin I’ve seen. He’s become cutesy, smiley, and doozy.
I like this story but there’s clearly a lot of missing parts that don’t transition well together, that’s why pacing is all over the place.
